Your teamOur engineering team sits within the IG Prime, strengthening IG’s institutional client offering. Our FIX Integrations team builds and maintains the APIs that power IG’s connectivity with institutional clients and partners across global markets. We’re responsible for delivering resilient, high-performance trading and market data integrations that underpin some of IG’s most critical client experiences.
You will play a key role in creating a new suite of robust trading APIs in the cloud.
You'll be at the heart of IG's institutional growth strategy—building the APIs that traders rely on every day. Your work directly enables IG Prime to onboard new clients, expand into new markets, and deliver the low-latency, reliable connectivity that institutional traders demand. You'll help grow the product offering by designing and delivering new API capabilities that meet evolving client needs. Whether you're shipping new features, hardening existing services, or collaborating with stakeholders to solve integration challenges, your contributions will have a real impact.
What you’ll doDevelop and maintain IG’s FIX APIs
Help deliver the IG Prime division’s product roadmap of new functionality
Provide technical support to IG’s clients and FIX Support teams when required
Monitor and manage FIX API services with a focus on performance, reliability, and resilience
Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve processes and deliver excellent service
Build test harnesses and increase automation across the FIX platform
What you’ll need for this role
Experience with developing external APIs
A continuous improvement mentality, experience with coding using AI
Identifies development risks and builds mitigations
Around 5 years of Java development experience
Strong concurrent/multithreaded programming skills
Experience with asynchronous systems (streaming, messaging)
Experience using the Spring Framework
Linux proficiency, including shell scripting
Experience with cloud (ideally AWS)
