IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER

WE EXIST TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF ATHLETES AND TEAMS

Our mission is to improve the performance of athletes and teams, which we do by engineering the premier technology platform for sport. We've been at the forefront of sports technology and science since 2006 - we don't just work in the sporting industry, we are actively changing its future. Our solutions are designed to help athletes and coaches “play smart” in a world where 1% can literally mean the difference between winning and losing.

We work with over 4,600 teams around the world, empowering coaches, managers and trainers in premier teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, EPL, AFL, NRL, NCAA and more. We provide the information they need to optimize athletes’ health, game-day readiness, and performance, as well as in-game tactics. Our solutions include wearable technology, video analytics, and athlete monitoring solutions, and we are passionate about helping sports organizations at all levels to better scout, recruit, teach, and win.

WE WANT PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY

Catapult is seeking a dynamic and skilled Systems Administrator & Engineer to take on a dual-pronged role. This position will own on-site IT support for our London office, as well as support remote employees in the EMEA region. This position will also serve as a systems expert within our Global IT team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on technical support to our London-based and remote EMEA employees, including members of our executive team, while collaborating with IT colleagues in the UK, US, and Australia. Additionally, this role will provide key contributions to Windows endpoint management and assist with global IT infrastructure projects.

  • Provide virtual support to remote team members in the UK, and in the broader EMEA region.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for Windows and macOS users.
  • Manage London office IT infrastructure, including networking, conferencing systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Ensure seamless IT operations and user experience within the London office.
  • Respond to assigned IT helpdesk requests in a timely manner.
  • Order equipment and maintain an IT hardware inventory for the London office.
  • Coordinate with the Global IT team for escalations and strategic initiatives.

Systems Administration

  • Serve as a systems expert within the Global IT team.
  • Manage Windows and macOS endpoints, and upgrade our Windows UEM/MDM tooling.
  • Ensure Windows endpoint policies are aligned with macOS endpoint policies.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to design infrastructure that aligns with ISO27001 standards.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain on-premise server infrastructure at our global offices, to support initiatives like network monitoring and corporate VPN.
  • Assist the DevOps and Infrastructure team on patch management for Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Develop and maintain automation for our global internal service desk (JSM).
  • Contribute to global IT projects and cross-functional technology initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Expertise: 3+ years of experience in IT support and Windows system administration.
  • Ability to work in the office 3-5 days/week.
  • Strong experience providing hands-on IT support in an office environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS endpoint management, including implementation and maintenance of UEM/MDM tooling.
  • Experience administrating Jira (Service Management & Software) and Confluence, as well as creating Jira automations.

  • Experience with Proxmox virtualization.
  • Experience with OpenVPN-based solutions.
  • Experience managing patches for Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a global team, under minimal supervision.
  • Composure, along with the ability to react quickly, during a crisis (for example, the network has gone down, or a critical system is unavailable).
