Location 

Infleqtion has offices in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. This is a full-time position in our Kidlington, Oxford office. Work from home permitted up to 2 days per week based on business needs and manager approval. 

Job Summary

Infleqtion UK is looking for an IT Manager who will oversee the planning, organisation, management and coordination of IT services and functions within Infleqtion UK. The successful applicant will ensure the smooth operation of internal IT systems and infrastructure, supporting the organisation’s overall objectives and growth.

Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Develop, implement and manage IT strategies aligned with the organisation’s business objectives
  • Oversee the design, development, implementation and day-to-day maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Recruit, manage, and lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training and performance evaluation
  • Adhere to best practices in securing and administering  all on-premise and cloud-based systems, data, and networks.
  • Preparing budget estimates used by executives to plan, organise and schedule work
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers (i.e. development platforms, telecommunication companies, hardware suppliers) and software licences
  • Install, configure and monitor both wired and wireless network topologies
  • Providing training to fellow employees about network security and the best computer usage practices
  • Contribute to the ongoing documentation efforts with regards to  policies, processes, and procedures

Requirements
  • Proficiency in the configuration of servers, networks, computers, peripherals, and business software platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of system security and procedures for protecting the organisation’s data from intrusion or corruption
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and create work schedules with minimal supervision
  • Excellent troubleshooting, creative and technical problem-solving skills
  • Good collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance

Technical Experience

  • Microsoft 365 administration, including Azure AD/Entra AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and the general Office productivity suite
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating systems including in depth understanding of VLANs and network segmentation, RBAC, and least-privileged-access approaches
  • Experience with support of on-premise Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating Systems, SQL Server, and Active Directory services (DNS, DHCP, LDAPS, etc), and firewall management (SSL/IPSec/L2TP VPNs)
  • Proven project management experience in IT infrastructure planning, development, and operations
  • Powershell scripting for automation of routine tasks
  • Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Intune, SCCM, Jamf
  • Familiarity with VMware, Azure, GCP, and/or AWS server virtualization
  • Enterprise Backup, Replication and Business Continuity and Disaster recover mitigation and response
  • Strong understanding of Helpdesk and Customer Relations Support systems
  • Embracement of the ITIL Framework
  • Process Automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML) Artificial Intelligence basics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field OR 6+ years of relevant professional industry or military experience AND previous IT Infrastructure, IT Management, or IT Business Operations experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of direct management experience is required
