We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Tax Manager to join the Fund and Investment Accounting team in London for a 9 month fixed term contract (hybrid working).

The roleAs an Investment Tax Manager, the role is to support the Head of Investment Tax and Investment Tax Senior Manager with ensuring that the tax filing obligations of the investment structures are met in a timely and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to preparing and submitting CIS returns monthly, supporting the preparation, review and submission of VAT returns and managing the corporation and partnership tax return submissions.
The role also involves supporting with adhoc tax queries that arise from the business, and overseeing the performance of third-party service providers as appropriate.
The personWe are looking for someone who has a high level of experience working across different types of tax, including Corporate Tax. You will have the ability to efficiently review and produce relevant reports and be comfortable managing tax compliance and owning the tax relocation process within Railpen. The successful candidate will either be tax qualified (ATT or CTA) or a qualified accountant who has a proficiency in Microsoft Excel. A previous experience of using Alpha Tax for corporation tax compliance purposes, as well as having exposure to how real estate and infrastructure assets are taxed would be desirable. In addition, some background within VAT would be a distinct advantage, however this isn’t essential.
To succeed in this role, you will have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritise workload to meet the various deadlines. You will be expected to take ownership of end-to-end compliance delivery, provide technical direction and review, and manage inputs from internal stakeholders and external advisors.
You should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to articulate financial information in both technical and non-technical terms to the diverse stakeholders you’ll be collaborating with. We are looking for an individual who is self-directed and can take ownership of tasks. The role will be expansive, and we therefore require someone who has a willingness to step out of their comfort zone and broaden their existing tax knowledge.
