Job Description

Job Purpose

To build and develop trusted relationships with current and potential clients. To be responsible for providing personalised investment advice and portfolio management to the client, ensuring that investment portfolios are managed in line with our investment philosophies & process.

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Build, manage and strengthen client relationships through the delivery of high-quality ongoing service, identifying opportunities for new business, referrals and client retention.
  • Lead professional client meetings, providing accurate, up-to-date and tailored investment advice, while constructing and reviewing portfolios aligned to clients' objectives, risk profiles and tax circumstances.
  • Execute the annual business plan and achieve agreed individual performance targets, ensuring all investment transactions are completed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Planning and Professional Services colleagues to deliver integrated client solutions and enhance overall client relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records, ensure regulatory and policy compliance, proactively manage complaints, and support timely resolution where required.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise through continuous professional development (CPD) and, where applicable, contribute to investment research activities by providing sector analysis, recommendations and leadership within specialist research teams.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry, investment markets and the wider wealth management landscape.
  • Proven experience managing client investment portfolios and delivering tailored investment advice aligned to client objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, restructure and align newly acquired portfolios with established investment policies and strategies.
  • Extensive technical and product knowledge, with the ability to clearly communicate a broad range of investment management solutions and strategies to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a high attention to detail.
  • Track record of leading client pitches, developing relationships, and successfully winning new business opportunities.
  • Experience operating within a robust risk management framework, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the risks, regulatory requirements, and challenges associated with a private client business

Professional Qualifications & Education

  • Holds a relevant Level 6 qualification (or higher), with a commitment to progressing towards Level 7 status.
  • Maintains a current and valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
