Internal Consulting Systems Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an Internal Consulting Systems Engineer to support, evolve, and automate solutions and tools that optimize pre-sales department workflows. This role blends cybersecurity expertise, systems engineering, and software development, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and secure-by-design solutions.

You will work closely with pre-sales stakeholders and internal systems engineers to design, build, and operate scalable platforms that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enable secure technical operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

Solution & Platform Engineering

  • Support, maintain, and continuously improve internal solutions and tools used across sales and pre-sales organizations.
  • Design and implement automation-first solutions to streamline workflows, reduce operational friction, and improve consistency.
  • Own solutions across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Security & Systems Operations

  • Troubleshoot complex security, network, and system issues in primarily Linux-based environments.
  • Contribute to secure system architectures involving virtualization, containers, and networked services.
  • Lead firewall management, including policy design, rule optimization, auditing, and advanced troubleshooting.

Software Development & Automation

  • Develop and enhance internal platforms, APIs, and automation using Python (Django) and Ruby on Rails.
  • Apply secure coding practices, code reviews, and automated testing to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Integrate solutions with existing infrastructure, tools, and services across Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.

Enablement & Collaboration

  • Participate in solution validation, internal demonstrations, and technical enablement activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational and security needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Produce clear documentation and operational runbooks to support adoption and long-term maintainability.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Senior-level experience in cybersecurity, with strong expertise in firewalls, network security, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in automation and software engineering, including proficiency in Python (Django) and Ruby on Rails.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC best practices, including version control (git and mecurial), testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Advanced Linux system administration skills; ability to integrate with Windows and macOS environments when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, network, and application layers.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization and container technologies.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solver with a hands-on, analytical mindset.
  • Motivated and curious, with a continuous learning attitude and interest in new technologies.
  • Open-minded and adaptable when working with evolving requirements and diverse stakeholders.
  • Patient and methodical, especially when troubleshooting complex systems and security issues.
  • Autonomous, able to take ownership of tasks and drive solutions end-to-end.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal contexts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Exposure to data science or AI applied to security analytics or workflow optimization.
