About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Internal Communications Specialist to help shape how we connect, engage, and inspire our people. You’ll play a key role in aligning communication strategies with our organisational ambitions and cultural aspirations, ensuring every message is clear, inclusive, and impactful. This is an exciting opportunity to influence employee experience and drive engagement across our business.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and implement internal communication plans that support our strategy and cultural aspirations.
Create compelling, inclusive, and accessible content for channels such as intranet, Viva Engage, and newsletters.
Manage and optimise internal communication platforms to ensure consistent messaging and high engagement.
Tailor communications for different audiences to ensure equity of experience and access to information.
Support senior leaders in crafting authentic messages that build trust and clarity.
Lead internal communications for organisational change initiatives, ensuring empathy and alignment throughout transitions.
Collaborate with teams to deliver events, campaigns, and initiatives (e.g., company-wide events, wellbeing, AI/technology).
Monitor employee sentiment through surveys, pulse checks, and informal feedback to inform strategy.
Use data and analytics to measure communication effectiveness and continuously improve impact.

Proven experience in strategic internal communications and creating compelling content.
Passion for connecting people to purpose and driving cultural alignment, with strong understanding of audience segmentation and channel strategy.
Knowledge of how internal communications influences employee experience.
Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with a focus on clarity and impact.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience advising senior leaders.
Proficiency with tools such as MS Office, Dot Digital, Poppulo, SharePoint, and Viva Engage.
Experience using AI to complement expertise and maximise efficiency.

Salary – £36,978 - £43,141 (dependent on experience)

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be based and required to spend 2-3 days a week at OSHQ.
