At M&S Food, we put customers at the heart of the decisions we make. As Insight Manager, you’ll be one of our most senior Insight experts in the Food Business Unit, supporting the Customer Insight Lead and helping the business use data, research and customer understanding to make better commercial decisions. You’ll act as a customer champion across Food, shaping insight plans, influencing key partners and embedding insight into areas such as marketing strategy, advertising, proposition development and trade planning. We’re looking for someone who can turn insight into clear action, build strong relationships and bring the customer voice into fast-moving business conversations.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Collaborate with partners across the Food Business Unit to strengthen collaboration and improve customer-led decision making.
  • Champion a more insight-led culture, keeping customer understanding central to both short-term trading and long-term planning.
  • Develop insight plans that support business priorities, working closely with researchers, data analysts, data scientists and market data providers.
  • Lead the use and development of self-serve insight tools, processes and resources that help teams access the right insight at the right time.
  • Turn insight into action by sharing clear recommendations, tracking impact and capturing examples of better customer-led decisions.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Strong partner management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • A clear, engaging communication style, with the ability to tell a joined-up customer story and turn data into meaningful insight.
  • Experience using insight to drive customer-centric thinking, commercial decisions and stronger business outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with research and analytical teams, with a strong eye for “insight over data” and the ability to join the dots.
  • Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, projects and insight needs in a fast-moving business.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
