ROLE PROFILE:

In this role, you will maintain and grow revenue within the FTSE Russell Index business across an existing book of clients, while also acting as a proactive hunter to originate and close new business opportunities. You will combine strong client‑management capability with a commercial, sales‑driven mindset to expand FTSE Russell’s footprint across both existing and new accounts. The ideal candidate brings a balance relationship stewardship, aggressive new‑logo acquisition, and experience operating across key Continental European markets.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • End‑to‑end ownership of the regional territory, including both management and expansion of the assigned book as well as active prospecting and hunting for new clients and revenue streams
  • New business generation through uncovering and converting opportunities across existing clients and net‑new prospects, aligned to FTSE Russell’s strategic priorities
  • Daily management of sales activity and pipeline within Salesforce.com
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and cross‑divisional colleagues across product, research, and client experience to deliver strategic, positive client outcomes
  • Execute FTSE Russell’s sales strategy, focusing on long‑term growth through strong client relationships and continuous market penetration across the UK and key Continental European markets

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 5–7 years sales experience in financial services, ideally within index, institutional, or buy‑side environments
  • Demonstrated hunter mindset with a track record of new‑business overachievement, alongside strong account‑management capabilities
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, the asset‑management industry, and the broader investment ecosystem; index‑investment knowledge is a plus
  • Experience covering major Continental European markets with an understanding of regional commercial dynamics and client types
  • Extensive senior‑level relationship‑management experience across CIOs, Heads of Product, Portfolio Managers, and Distribution/Sales leadership within asset‑management firms
  • Employs a data‑driven, targeted approach to prospecting, whitespace identification, and territory planning
  • Able to simplify deal structures and overcome client objections to accelerate time‑to‑close
  • Self‑starter who brings creativity, initiative, and commercial drive to originate new opportunities and deepen existing relationships
  • A collaborative teammate who balances firm interests and acts as a strong steward of FTSE Russell’s brand and values

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

London isn't just a hub for established businesses; it's also a nursery for innovation. Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
