As the HR Director, you will be responsible and accountable for the full delivery of HR services across New Victoria Hospital, ensuring people strategy, workforce capability and organisational culture fully support the hospital’s business objectives and clinical priorities.
A critical element of this role is owning and leading post‑acquisition integration, with specific accountability for aligning people processes, policies, systems, culture and ways of working to Bupa standards while respecting and preserving the hospital’s identity. You will provide clear leadership through change, ensuring colleagues feel supported, engaged and confident throughout the transition. We welcome applicants with systems and post aquistion integration experience.
Key Responsibilities:
As a HR Director, you will operate at both strategic and operational level, with responsibility for:
- Providing HR leadership aligned to the hospital’s business objectives and Bupa Health Services strategy.
- Leading and delivering the post‑acquisition people integration agenda, including harmonisation of HR policies, employment practices, reward frameworks and HR systems.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive and senior leadership team on workforce strategy, organisational design, employee relations and change management.
- Developing and embedding a strong, values‑led people culture, promoting engagement, inclusion, learning and high performance.
- Ensuring effective delivery of core HR functions including recruitment, workforce planning, learning and development, employee relations, pay and reward, equality and diversity.
- Championing learning and development across the hospital, building leadership and management capability at all levels.
- Leading a People team based at the hospital
- Leading on HR governance, compliance and risk, ensuring alignment with employment legislation, information governance, equality duties and relevant healthcare standards.
- Establishing robust HR metrics and reporting, using insight to drive continuous improvement and inform executive decision‑making.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced senior HR leader with a strong track record in complex, regulated environments. You will bring:
Significant experience operating at HR Director, Head of People or senior HR leadership level with ability to work independently but isnt opposed to guidance and support
Experience of working both strategically and operationally and willingness to ‘roll sleeves up’
Proven experience leading organisational change and post‑acquisition integration, particularly relating to people processes and systems.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and governance requirements.
Experience working closely with executive teams, providing strategic advice and challenge.
Commercial and operational acumen, with the ability to balance people outcomes with service delivery and financial performance.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
A collaborative, resilient and pragmatic leadership style, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
