About the opportunity:

We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well‑established UK manufacturing organisation specialising in building products.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE Manager to take full ownership of health, safety and environmental operations within a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment.

This is a standalone role, where you will be responsible for the entire site’s HSE function, working closely with leadership and operational teams to drive standards, ensure compliance, and create a positive, proactive safety culture.

You will play a key role in not only identifying risks but also providing practical, workable solutions, helping the business operate safely and efficiently.

In particular, you will:

  • Lead, develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and safe systems of work
  • Ensure compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements
  • Act as the main point of contact for all HSE matters on site
  • Carry out site inspections and safety tours, maintaining high standards across the site
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
  • Deliver training including inductions, fire safety and emergency procedures
  • Promote a positive HSE culture and continuous improvement across the business
  • Work collaboratively with teams to find solutions to operational and safety challenges

Who we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as an HSE Manager within a manufacturing, warehouse or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practice
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence others
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Someone who is commercially aware and able to balance safety with operational practicality
  • Positive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently

Why you will love working here:

  • Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Competitive salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience
  • Join a business that values improvement, collaboration and forward-thinking ideas
  • 25 days of holidays (with 2 to be saved for Christmas shut down) + bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • Free onsite parking
