The job holder will be required to be the nominated responsible person for Health & Safety at both locations.

Job Description

The role involves: 

  • The enabling functions of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at Syntegon UK, acting as an internal service provider to the organization.
  • This role will provide shared services to both Syntegon UK sites in Bristol (Manufacturing site), and Derby (Service business) to ensure legality by advising and monitoring compliance with internal regulations
  • Implementing the Syntegon Group HSE directives in consideration & adherence of local UK regulations
  • The role is based in Bristol, but regularly travels to Derby

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring legal operations at the site by advising and monitoring compliance with external and internal regulations
  • Exchange and close cooperation with the EHS central functions
  • Energy management at the site and reporting of relevant EHS, - KPIs to the Syntegon HQ
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
  • Advising employees and managers on HSE issues, working towards a strong safety awareness among the entire workforce. Including chairing quarterly HSE meetings and conducting awareness presentations at Company meetings
  • Maintain a structured programme of health & safety training, including toolbox talks, throughout the Company at both locations.
  • Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained. Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Regular safety inspections of operating facilities, equipment and work processes as well as regular inspection of workplaces
  • Reporting and analysis of EHS incidents at the site, monitoring corrective actions, reporting to PA/EHS
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of EHS management systems
  • Resource Advisor/Sphera – Headcount, incidents, Utilities & Waste Reporting – monthly (B&D)
  • Managing Safe Contractor renewal

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
  • Understanding of business processes for capital equipment manufacturers
  • Understanding of field-based sales and service operations
  • Valid passport and ability to travel
  • Driving license
  • Valid work permit to allow employment in UK
  • Several years of professional experience in the HSE/ EHS-area
     

The job holder will hold the following knowledge and skills

  • HSE qualification/certification
  • Analytic skills, especially for legal principles and context
  • Ability to write clear, legal recommendations and instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Fundamental technical knowledge in special machine construction.
  • Experienced in risk management
  • Proficient in office standard software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Action oriented, quick learner, ambitious; has experience in driving change and delivering results.
