The HSE Manager is responsible for leading and driving a positive HSE culture across the London region. The HSE Manager will be assigned project(s) of responsibility, but must be flexible to provide support in other areas as directed. 

Core Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Demonstrate visible and proactive HSE leadership and direction across Pure DC projects
  • Implement HSE business decisions
  • Ensure the Pure DC HSE and statutory requirements are being achieved across all Pure DC projects
  • Provide necessary HSE guidance and recommendation at project level to Pure DC leadership teams
  • Share knowledge and develop the competencies of Pure DC teams through mentoring and coaching
  • Build confidence and capability through timely and reasoned decision making and problem solving
  • Support and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Expand and maintain professional relationships, internally and externally
  • Work closely with contractors and consultants to ensure HSE requirements are known and achieved
  • Prioritise customer focus to ensure they feel heard and valued
  • Apply a structured and methodical approach to proactive monitoring and close out
  • Support the development and implementation of localised HSE programmes
  • Provide high quality, structure reports to leadership teams

The appointed will be expected to manage any HSE consultants that are engaged on the project(s) across the London region.

Skills

  • Ability to work at strategic levels and demonstrate visible and proactive leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being able to relate to people at all levels
  • Excellent organisation and presentation skills
  • A committed, focused, and resilient team player
  • A confident influencer and innovated thinker

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent – minimum), ideally NEBOSH Diploma, or degree qualified
  • IOSH Member of IOSH or equivalent health and safety body
  • Lead auditor and RCA investigation qualification would be hugely advantageous

Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within DC Construction, with similar scale, scope and responsibility
  • Previous experience developing a culture of continuous improvement
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft suite)
  • Significant experience of ISO45001 and ISO14001

Note:  The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment screening to BS7858:2019, or national equivalent. (Covers: Confirmation of identity, legal right to work, financial probity, criminal history and associations with proscribed organisations).
