Company Description

At TOPdesk, HR Business Partners sit right next to the business. You'll be the sparring partner for the leadership of your own department, advising on everything from talent planning to organizational change, and making sure people decisions are consistent, fair, and forward-looking.

And there's plenty to sink your teeth into. We're growing internationally and working on several major HR transformation initiatives; think of the rollout of a new global performance management process and unified career paths across our 8 countries and 700+ colleagues. That means real organizational design questions, not hypothetical ones. You'll influence how these land in your department and work directly with senior leadership and your fellow HRBPs to get it right.

Job Description

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with leadership: you're the first point of contact for the managers in your department on workforce planning, talent, and day-to-day people decisions; challenging assumptions and shaping decisions based on business and people impact.
  • Advise on the hard stuff: employee relations, performance, and engagement; analyzing cases, presenting options, and recommending balanced solutions.
  • Turn strategy into action: translate business objectives and our global HR strategy into concrete initiatives with clear owners, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Own the people strategy: develop the long-term people priorities for your department, including measurable outcomes and resource implications.
  • Work evidence-based: analyze HR data and trends, flag risks early, and follow through until behavior actually changes; not just until the report is sent.
  • Coach managers: on leadership and performance topics, through structured conversations and honest feedback.
  • Drive change: support organizational change and design together with L&D, recruitment, and the Works Council; mapping people impact, handling complex and sensitive people decisions with care, and monitoring how change lands.
  • Be there for people: managers may be your first customers, but you're just as much there for the colleagues who need HR the most; approachable, fair, and human.

Qualifications

Who you are

  • You bring solid experience as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable advisory HR role.
  • You combine a business mindset with genuine care for people; and you're there for them when they need you.
  • You know performance and talent management and employee relations inside out; and you apply frameworks with judgment, not just by the book.
  • You're evidence-based and structured: data becomes decision-relevant insight, plans have owners and milestones, and you check what actually changed.
  • You build trust quickly and keep it. You handle sensitive matters with integrity and deliver unpopular messages when needed.
  • You influence senior stakeholders constructively: you challenge assumptions, make trade-offs explicit, and hold the line on agreed standards.
  • You're fluent in English; (Dutch is a strong plus)

If you recognize yourself in most of this and are willing to learn and grow in the direction described, we'd love to hear from you.

Additional Information

The team

You'll join a compact team of three: our Global Head of HR Business Partnering, who also carries part of the operational workload, and two HR Business Partners. With you, we'll be four, together covering all TOPdesk departments. You'll report to the Global Head of HR Business Partnering, who is part of the VP HR leadership team, so your line to decision-makers is short.

What's in it for you

  • A strong focus on personal development — including, in the Netherlands, our “10 to Grow” programme: 10% of your time and budget for your own growth.

  • A hybrid working environment built on freedom, trust, and responsibility.

  • An open, informal, and supportive culture, with collaboration across national borders.

  • Excellent employment conditions.
