Role Summary

EQ Retirement Solutions is looking for an HR Business Partner on a 12-month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover and support a significant period of business change.

This role will be hybrid from either our Liverpool office or Crawley office.

The purpose of this role is to partner with business leaders to deliver commercially focused people solutions that support organisational performance, employee engagement and business objectives. In addition to providing broad HR Business Partner support across the employee lifecycle, the role will play a key role in supporting the separation of EQ Retirement Solutions from Equiniti Group, alongside the delivery of day-to-day operational and strategic people initiatives.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Partner with leaders and managers to translate the People strategy into practical plans and actions aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide proactive HR support and challenge to leaders on organisational, people and workforce matters.
  • Support the delivery of the EQ Retirement Solutions separation programme, including organisational design, employee transitions and people-related change activities.
  • Act as a key People lead on TUPE projects, consultation activity and employee transfer arrangements.
  • Support and advise managers through organisational change, restructuring and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Lead and support complex employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, redundancies and settlement discussions.
  • Support cyclical People activities including performance reviews, talent planning, succession planning, annual pay reviews and bonus processes.
  • Coach, support and develop managers to strengthen people management capability and leadership effectiveness.
  • Work with managers to identify people trends, workforce risks and opportunities using HR data and analytics.
  • Produce and present people metrics, insights and board reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Partner with Resourcing, Reward, Learning & Development and People Services colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to people management.
  • Support business cases, change programmes, acquisitions, disposals and other strategic business initiatives where required.
  • Ensure People policies, practices and decisions are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation and company standards.
  • Champion a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture across EQ Retirement Solutions.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the below skills, capabilities and attributes

  • Significant HR Business Partnering experience within a commercial organisation.
  • Strong HR generalist knowledge across employee relations, organisational design, talent management, engagement, reward and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting organisational change, consultation exercises and TUPE transfers.
  • Experience of managing complex employee relations cases and providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly at senior leadership level.
  • Excellent coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Experience of analysing workforce data and translating insights into meaningful actions and recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR systems, including Workday.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised, responsive and resilient, with strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting business separations, carve-outs, mergers or acquisitions.
  • Experience within pensions, financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment.
  • CIPD Level 5/7 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting large-scale organisational transformation and change programmes.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and change methodologies.
