About the Role & Team

As our first HR team member in the UK, you'll play a pivotal role in owning our EU recruitment strategies while fostering an energetic workplace culture among our teams in the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the People & Talent Team Lead in AU, your core responsibilities will revolve around attracting and hiring top new talent, boosting team engagement and maximising retention.

Recruitment

  • Own the recruitment processes for all roles across UK & Ireland, including CV & phone screening, scheduling interviews, coordinating reference checks and drafting employment documents and maintaining job descriptions.
  • Manage the posting of jobs on Compass’ careers page and other key job boards via our ATS, Workable. 

Onboarding and Induction  

  • Deliver an exceptional onboarding and induction experience that supports new team members as they acclimate to their roles at Compass, collaborating closely with department managers and team leaders to guarantee a smooth and successful transition.
  • Carry out pre-onboarding tasks such as gathering necessary information and paperwork related to employment, including payroll details.
  • Provide new employees with overviews of our main HRIS systems (Employment Hero & Parolla self-service), including change of details, absence management & access to company policies and information.
  • Ensure that employees have everything they need to be successful in their new role, from tools, resources and information, including ordering and provisioning of new starter equipment.
  • Conduct check-ins with new employees at key milestones to ensure they are settling into their role.

Organisational Culture

  • Play a key role in the creation and rollout of employee engagement activities and construct ways to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity to enhance retention.
  • Assist leadership in organising UK & IE monthly team days, festival of learning, end of year parties and monthly team Huddles.

Employee Relations

  • Respond to general employee queries, escalating to the People & Talent Team Lead when required.
  • Assist with formal separation processes between employee and the company.
  • Conduct and analyse exit interviews as needed and provide feedback to help recommend changes.
  • Assist managers with the probationary review process and issue pass letters.
  • Support the People & Talent Lead with ER issues including, preparing paperwork and acting as notetaker (when necessary) at disciplinary, grievance and performance consultations.
  • Ensure team adherence to UK and IE employment laws and policies.
  • Support managers with talent management initiatives, including performance reviews, development programs and performance management processes.
Requirements

About You

This role is perfect for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual eager to drive recruitment excellence and elevate employee experiences.

You will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ industry experience in a talent acquisition role within a SaaS or Technology environment. 
  • Strong understanding of local UK & Ireland employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with HRIS systems effectively, knowledge of Employment Hero and/or Culture Amp will be highly regarded.
  • The capability to manage competing demands, demonstrating your ability to flex and adapt in a dynamic, fast moving environment.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees across the business - you are a diplomat with good client service skills to effectively manage the needs of a diverse workforce, while ensuring all HR processes are followed.
  • A highly proactive nature and the drive to take the initiative to improve the way things are done.
  • A high attention to detail and excellent organisational and process skills - you are consistently reliable and effectively deliver tasks and projects from beginning to end as requested.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
