About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Heritage Park Assistant  to join our Newstead Abbey team and help us care for and enhance some of Nottingham’s most treasured heritage sites.

This is your chance to play a hands-on role working in the park, grounds and formal gardens of our heritage sites. To assist with day to day care, maintenance and development of the park and wider site. You will undertake advanced horticulture, nature conservation, promote biodiversity and practical grounds maintenance working with a range of supportive colleagues and volunteers.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A working background, interest and passion for horticulture, grounds maintenance, nature conservation,  and/ or park management 
  • A working knowledge and use of a wide range of vehicles and hand held mechanical equipment, including full driving licence
  • Confident Communication and interpersonal skills including working successfully in partnership, building and maintaining good working relationships 
  • The ability to work independently including evenings, weekends, school and public holidays.
  • Drive and motivation ability to deliver against challenging objectives with creativity and confidence
