This is a 12-month contract and a senior leadership role within the agency, working closely with our leadership team, senior clients and the broader dentsu network.
You'll champion our strategic vision, set the standard for strategic excellence, develop our people and product, and play a leading role across our most important clients, pitches and growth opportunities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and elevate the quality of our strategic product across key clients and the broader agency

  • Act as a trusted strategic partner to senior clients, championing their customers and identifying opportunities for business growth

  • Lead the development of strategic outputs including brief diagnosis, audience strategy, insights and communications frameworks

  • Provide strategic leadership and quality control across major client briefs and high-value new business pitches

  • Lead, mentor and develop the strategy team, including performance, development, resourcing and utilisation

  • Partner with agency leadership to continually evolve our positioning, strategic product and approach in market

  • Build strong relationships across the wider dentsu network, locally and globally, sharing capability and best practice

About You:

  • An experienced strategic leader with senior-level experience across media, digital, communications or integrated agency environments.

  • Naturally curious about people, culture, business and the forces shaping change, with a passion for uncovering the patterns that create competitive advantage.

  • Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, able to create clarity and direction even when complete information isn't available.

  • An outstanding strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and a proven ability to translate complex business challenges into clear, compelling and actionable strategic direction.

  • A confident and credible senior client leader with a strong track record of influencing executive stakeholders, driving growth and building trusted relationships.

  • An expert generalist who can draw connections across media, marketing, technology, data, culture and customer behaviour to unlock better outcomes for clients.

  • Confident in your judgement, but willing to challenge your own assumptions, seek new perspectives and adapt when presented with better information.

  • Naturally collaborative, bringing together client, media, creative, digital, data and broader dentsu capabilities without losing sight of the strategic direction.

  • An inspiring people leader who enjoys developing strategists, elevating the quality of thinking and creating an environment where great work can thrive.

  • Sceptical, questioning and intellectually rigorous, with the conviction to challenge convention and champion better solutions for clients and the agency.

What’s in it for you:

  • A high-profile 12-month leadership opportunity with the ability to influence the strategic direction and product of the agency

  • Real flexibility to work when and where you feel most productive with our ‘Be the Best Us' Policy

  • The opportunity to give back with dedicated volunteer leave and our whole-company event, One Day for Change

  • Three whole-company Wellness Days each year for you to switch off and take your day, your way

  • Career development and learning opportunities, including access to our global dentsu University

  • The opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading brands and collaborate with strategic talent across the global dentsu network

Become a champion for meaningful progress:

Our diverse and inclusive culture enables our employees to bring their whole selves to work and be proud of doing so. For us, this is the foundation for great innovation which, in turn, generates better outcomes for our people, partners and communities. This is why we encourage applications from people with disabilities, and of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and cultures.
