Your new role - Head of Sales

 

Global Studios is an exciting new focus for Global – where all podcasts exist under the Global Studios umbrella brand. Whether they are Global Originals (produced in in house at Global), 3rd party shows that Global host and monetises, or our recent acquisitions, The Fellas Studios and Gary Neville’s Overlap offering. 

 

Global Studios is already home to some of the UK’s leading shows such as The News Agents, The Sports Agents, My Therapist Ghosted Me, Stick To Football, The Fellas, Saving Grace, and many more. At Global Studios, we have huge ambitions to grow this brand – increasing our content and the revenue we generate. 

 

As a Head of Sales at Global Studios, you’ll  

Oversee and maintain the pipeline of; 

  • Brief responses across the whole sales team 

  • Booked, planned and identified revenue  

  • Report weekly status of revenue for the coming quarter 

  • Identify areas for revenue growth opportunities by show, product and agency patch 

  • Manage key members of the sales team, supporting each individual’s goals and business focuses through the year  

  • Be the first port of call for the team in any troubleshooting related to a podcast sales pitch/booking 

  • Support the team on any new sales opportunities, presenting roll out of information and training sessions where necessary (e.g. how to approach a branded episode podcast pitch to clients) 

  • Support the strategy of any relevant podcast training, information sharing and cross team collaboration across the wider sales floor  

  • Present at relevant agency and industry events to promote Global Studios market position 

 

As Head of Sales at Global Studiosyou will split your time as follows: 

  • Identify and Support Revenue Focus (40%)Support and lead the sales team in where the focus should be in market. Owning and capturing the full pipeline of live and upcoming campaigns.  

  • Pitching (20%)Be confident and passionate in your ability to pitch. Helping with any large-scale pitch opportunities alongside the sales team.  

  • New Products (20%): Identify new products and partnership opportunities for the sales team to take to market. Work collaboratively with internal teams to price, design and launch new commercial opportunities around our shows.  

  • Industry Insight (10%)You will need to stay informed on the UK and global podcast industry trends, competitors, research, and tech developments to identify growth areas. Remain up to date on latest podcast launches, key talent moves, competitors, and partnerships. 

  • Enjoy our content (10%): For the eagle-eyed reading this, this takes us to 110%. You will need to be fluent & knowledgeable about our content. We would hope and expect you to enjoy our content in your own time too as part of your wider media consumption

What Success Looks Like 

 

In your first few months, you’ll have: 

  • Identified and implemented a clear strategy across each sales patch for focus on through the year 

  • Met and established strong relationships with all key agency and client contacts 

  • Establish solid internal relationships across all areas of the business that support our podcast business including marketing, salestech and editorial. 

 

 

What You’ll Need 
  • 5+ years of experience in the podcast industry 

  • Solid understanding of podcast commercial opportunities and processes, with the ability to troubleshoot issues or overcome objections  

  • Ability to distil complex technical and commercial information into clear, actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Proven track record in building and maintaining long-term strategic partnerships that drive mutual value. 

  • Established network of contacts in the UK advertising market 

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a consultative approach to working with partners and cross-functional teams. 

  • Exceptional prioritisation and decision-making abilities, with a focus on strategic outcomes. 

  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive environment where diverse views and experiences are welcomed and celebrated in your team
