About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Product Technology to shape the long-term technical direction of our Product portfolio, supporting VFX and Feature Animation workflows.
This role owns the architectural coherence and strategic evolution of our suite of proprietary applications and DCC integrations. You will define how our product platforms scale, integrate and mature over time, ensuring they remain sustainable, performant and aligned with both production demands and business priorities.
Working in close partnership with Product Engineering leadership and Architects, you will provide portfolio-level technical direction that clarifies roadmap decisions, resolves cross-product trade-offs, and enables engineering teams to execute against a cohesive, forward-looking vision.
Job Description
- Define and evolve the long-term technical roadmap across the Product portfolio.
- Guide cross-product technical decisions and resolve architectural trade-offs.
- Partner with the Head of Product Engineering to ensure strategic intent translates into executable plans.
- Collaborate with Architects to maintain technical coherence across applications and integrations.
- Align product evolution with production needs, show requirements and company priorities.
- Identify and manage systemic technical risk and platform debt.
- Contribute to investment discussions by framing technical direction in terms of sustainability and business impact.
- Represent Product Technology in senior leadership discussions and relevant industry forums.
Must Have
- Significant experience leading architectural direction across large-scale software portfolios.
- Proven ability to guide multiple engineering teams through complex technical evolution.
- Deep understanding of production technology ecosystems, pipelines and DCC environments.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term sustainability and immediate production realities.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and architectural governance.
- Excellent communication skills across engineering, production and executive stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience within VFX, Feature Animation or large-scale creative production.
- Familiarity with USD-based workflows and modern DCC ecosystems.
- Experience operating within distributed or global technology organisations.
- Demonstrated experience shaping multi-year product or platform strategy.
Brahma AI & DDU
DDU (DNEG Dedicated Unit) operates within BRAHMA AI and works closely with DNEG to develop technology used directly in production.
The team builds tools, platforms and workflows that support VFX and Feature Animation pipelines across DNEG’s global studios.
Much of the work focuses on artist-facing tools, large production pipelines, simulation and rendering workflows, and systems that need to run reliably across distributed teams.
