Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Head of Partner UK&I to join our ever evolving SMB team and help shape the future of global commerce.

The Head of Partner leads indirect distribution for the UK and Ireland. The role owns the partner channel end to end, from partner recruitment and commercial construction through to boarded, activated and retained merchants. The portfolio spans ISOs, franchises, resellers and introducer arrangements. It also includes Worldpay360, the proprietary point of sale proposition sold through the channel. The role holder is accountable for the commercial plan across that portfolio and for the team that delivers it.

What you’ll own

  • Lead the partner distribution business for the UK and Ireland, including the leadership layer beneath and the partner management, onboarding and support functions.
  • Own the commercial plan for the channel across ISOs, franchises, resellers, introducer arrangements and Worldpay360.
  • Recruit, segment and tier partners, and manage the concentration risk that comes with a portfolio weighted toward a small number of large relationships.
  • Construct and negotiate commercial terms, contracts and incentive structures that secure share of partner volume in a market where partners have alternatives every month.
  • Grow product attachment across the partner base, bringing the full proposition to partners who have historically sold only part of it.
  • Own the ongoing evolution and roadmap of Worldpay360, and sustain its growth through the channel. Bring the legacy Global Payments and Worldpay partner estates onto a single commercial and operating footing.
  • Pick up the design and part of the implementation of the target partner infrastructure, including portal, dashboard and partner reporting.
  • Hold accountability for boarding, activation, reconciliation and support performance, working with operations and finance to resolve the issues partners feel.
  • Partner across direct sales, product, marketing, operations and finance so that the channel is well supplied and well supported.
  • Represent the partner business within the UK and Ireland leadership team and contribute to the wider commercial agenda.

What you’ll bring

  • Substantial leadership experience in payments or acquiring
  • A track record of creating scale value from third party partnerships, evidenced in portfolio revenue, retention and share of partner volume.
  • Command of commercial construction across rev share, residuals, tiering, pricing and contract negotiation with sophisticated counterparties.
  • Experience across more than one partner type, spanning ISOs, franchises, introducers or resellers, and the different economics each carries.
  • Understanding of point of sale propositions and how a physical estate is grown through third parties.
  • Practical grasp of the operational spine behind a partner channel, covering boarding, activation, reconciliation and support.
  • Experience holding a partner portfolio together through an integration, a platform migration or a change of ownership.
It’s a bonus if you have
  • Experience building partner management infrastructure, including portals, dashboards and partner reporting, rather than inheriting a mature toolset.
  • A background that spans both the acquirer side and the partner side of the contract, so you understand what makes a provider easy or hard to sell.
  • Exposure to franchise or multi site network distribution alongside classic ISO and introducer models.
