Summary:

The Head of MI & Reporting is the engine room of Group FP&A's management information function. The role owns the monthly MI cycle end-to-end  from data aggregation and system integrity through to investor-grade reporting and executive presentations- and leads two direct reports in delivering that cycle with rigour and consistency. Critically, this role is the integrating layer between the FP&A business partners and the broader finance function. Success depends on aligning inputs across the team, driving standardisation in how we aggregate and analyse large data sets, and ensuring that reporting outputs are consistently high-quality, actionable and suited to an executive audience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MI & Investor Reporting

  • Own the monthly Group MI pack end-to-end: production, commentary, quality control and delivery to FP&A leadership, Waystone Executive team and investors, on time and to a consistently high standard.
  • Lead all standard investor reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis; manage ad-hoc queries from investors promptly and accurately.
  • Own the Group reporting calendar, ensuring all key reporting requirements are known, tracked and executed by the FP&A team.
  • Produce flash revenue reporting across legal entities, countries and product structures, with KPI and trend analysis that gives management a clear and timely read on performance.

FP&A Systems, Data & analytics

  • Own the FP&A systems and toolset, ensuring data is well-controlled, models are scalable, and that new data sources are integrated in a structured and controlled way.
  • Ensuring that the structuring of our data leads to improvements in our data quality/governance, and also surfaces relevant data in a more impactful way
  • Comfortable with driving finance systems & finance process efficiency. You will identify and drive positive change to system structures and related processes which will support FP&A in raising our level.
  • Experienced in driving automation in financial processes, and curious about the deployment of AI tooling to support efficiencies or deeper insights.
  • Drive standardisation across the team in how we aggregate and analyse large data sets, reducing reliance on fragmented individual processes and moving to consistent, repeatable approaches.
  • Coordinate the wider FP&A team to engage with Financial Control with the goal of addressing potential General Ledger integrity issues or identifying improvements to ERP data entry to enhance reporting.
  • Work with relevant departments to gather client revenue and cost of sales data for analytical purposes, building reliable data flows that FP&A can depend on.

Revenue Analysis & Forward-Looking Insight

  • Deliver monthly analysis on Opportunities, Wins and Onboarding to provide forward-looking insight into revenue trends and the pipeline impact on future performance.
  • Connect revenue run-rate and ARR outputs (built by the wider FP&A team) into the MI reporting suite so that executives have a consistent view of both current and forward performance.
  • Identify performance trends, anomalies and risks in the data and surface these with clear, well-evidenced commentary in the MI materials.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Partner across FP&A and broader Finance function to co-ordinate the annual budget process for revenue and cost of sales, ensuring alignment of inputs and consistent methodology.
  • Co-ordinate the quarterly revenue and cost of sales forecasting process with the country business partners.
  • Prepare high-quality presentation materials to support budgeting and forecasting conversations with senior stakeholders.

Business Partnering & Coordination

  • Act as the integrating layer between FP&A business partners and the MI function — aligning inputs, resolving data conflicts, ensuring all FP&A output is consistent across the various reporting layers and ensuring that what goes into the monthly pack reflects a single, agreed version of the truth.
  • Collaborate with Country and Product leadership to provide financial guidance and ensure MI outputs are relevant, actionable and understood by the business.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders, including investors and senior leadership.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of two, setting clear priorities, defining reporting outputs and creating an environment where the team can do their best work.
  • Continuously evolve how the team measures and presents performance, always seeking to increase the actionable impact of the analysis.
  • Raise the bar on presentation quality across the team, ensuring all outputs — whether for internal leadership or external investors — are executive-ready.

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Experience:

  • 10+ years post-qualified finance experience, with a meaningful proportion in FP&A or financial reporting in a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality MI and management reporting for a senior or executive audience.
  • Experience owning or managing financial planning and reporting systems, with a strong understanding of data flows and model architecture.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with large, complex data sets — extracting insight, identifying anomalies and communicating findings clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex financial analysis into clear, commercially relevant messaging for non-finance audiences.
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Desirable

  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate or similar BI and automation tooling; a track record of improving reporting efficiency through technology.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Adaptive Planning or Salesforce.
  • Experience in financial services, asset management or a similarly data-intensive, multi-jurisdiction business.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) preferred.
