The impact you’ll have

As the Head of Marketplace for Land based products, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our Accommodation & Transfer products. You'll lead the charge in defining and executing an ambitious, customer-centric vision that drives our market share, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability. You will coordinate, manage, and directly drive customer- & supplier-focused change across the entire journey, working closely with both Commercial & Technology teams across the business. Within our platform teams you will be the primary commercial stakeholder for our Search platform team, working closely with them to deliver an impactful tech roadmap that helps us to grow, and to deliver our customer vision across all markets.

Your day-to-day:

  • You will develop & own the company’s strategy for growing our accommodation vertical, as part of our dynamic package offering, at a company & destination level.

  • You will lead our Land (Accommodation & Transfers) Marketplace team, driving the implementation of our customer vision in our Land Products.

  • You will work closely with our Land Supply team to deliver growth for the Land P&L, tackling everything from range gaps, to cost competitiveness and from hotel investments to hotel quality improvements - thinking holistically & delivering the detail

  • You will act as the primary business stakeholder for our search platform team, setting the commercial context for their priorities, working closely with them on customer, market & product discovery, and ensuring we stay ahead of our competition. For the avoidance of doubt, you will also be the lead commercial stakeholder of our accommodation sort order

  • You will build customer driven experiment hypotheses and use them to run configuration experiments, as well as to set out the roadmap for the introduction of further configuration over time.

  • You will work closely with our Customer Service teams to make sure that our accommodation & ancillary products & partners deliver against customer expectations, and to adapt our selling journey within accommodation to deliver long-term Customer LTV growth.

  • You are a strong strategic thinker, capable of breaking down complex problems & establishing clear, well-reasoned strategic direction that stakeholders at all levels understand & buy into

  • You are a strong leader - the teams you lead understand what is needed of them to deliver & you build strong followership & growth among them

  • You are capable of leading through influence as well as action - you understand how to deliver impact in a matrixed organisation.

  • You have a strong understanding of the travel sector & experience working closely with technical teams

  • You have experience working in a digital-first business, and have a deep understanding of how to drive growth in a digital marketplace, considering customers, competitors & suppliers

  • You have a data-driven mindset - you bring data to bear to drive your thinking & to back your strategies & decisions - you & your teams are able to self-serve analysis for impact

  • You are a strong verbal & written communicator

Desirable

  • Understanding of modern technology stacks and their role in scalable growth in ecommerce businesses is a strong asset

  • Travel experience across multiple points of sale is preferred
