Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We share the collective intelligence and risk sharing expertise of the market’s brightest minds, working together for a braver world.

Our role is to inspire courage, so tomorrow’s progress isn’t limited by today’s risks.

Our shared values: we are brave; we are stronger together; we do the right thing; guide what we do and how we act. If you share our values and our passion to build a future that’s more sustainable, resilient and inclusive, you’ll find a home at Lloyd’s – build a braver future with us.

We are looking for an interim Head of Market Oversight Management to lead this high‑impact market facing team at the heart of our oversight framework. This is a senior leadership role with real influence—over people, performance and how we engage with the market.

This role also leads the team that are driving operational change to the delivery of market oversight, innovating and improving processes and data solutions.

What you’ll be doing

This role is about leadership first. Around half your time will be spent leading, developing and inspiring a team of Market Oversight Managers. The rest is about strategy, improvement and impact. You’ll:

  • Set and drive a clear strategy for Market Oversight Management, with goals and KPIs that matter.

  • Lead a team that delivers high‑quality, consistent oversight support to Managing Agents, internal partners and regulators.

  • Improve how we work—simplifying processes, strengthening controls and using tools like Dynamics and Power BI to raise standards.

  • Build capability across the team, with structured development, learning and clear progression.

  • Act as a senior escalation point, handling complex issues and confident conversations with key stakeholders.

  • Shape how we report and present insight to CPG, MOG and other senior forums.

  • Represent the Market Oversight Management perspective within the Market Oversight Senior Leadership Team.

  • Own delivery of audit and improvement actions linked to Lloyd’s Oversight Framework.

  • Set the tone for how we engage with the market—clearly, consistently and with integrity, aligned to MERP.

You won’t directly manage managing agent relationships day to day. But when it matters, your experience and judgement will make the difference.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a leader who combines commercial insight, regulatory awareness and people‑first leadership.

You’ll have:

Leadership and skills

  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high‑performing teams.

  • Confidence coaching others and supporting them through change.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.

  • A structured, delivery‑focused approach to strategy, process and performance.

  • Experience working effectively in matrix environments.

Knowledge

  • A strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance business models and P&L drivers.

  • Insight into the risks faced by insurers—and what can cause failure.

  • Working knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, including the PRA, FCA and principles‑based oversight.

  • Awareness of current underwriting and market conditions.

Experience

  • Significant experience in the London insurance market.

  • Leading externally facing teams with credibility and impact.

  • Driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborating across functions to deliver joined‑up outcomes.

How you’ll lead

At Lloyd’s, how we deliver matters.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead with openness, curiosity and courage.

  • Build trust through transparency and clear decision‑making.

  • Focus on what matters most—and be brilliant at it.

  • Empower others to speak up, grow and succeed.

You’ll help create a culture where people feel confident, supported and able to do their best work.
