Head of IT Change & Transformation | London

Job Overview:

The Head of IT Change and Transformation is responsible for the management and operation of Monex Europe’s application technology roadmap and the associated change enablement.

The job holder works with stakeholders across the business and reviews the needs of the organisation, working with the Chief Operations Officer they manage the IT change investment and requirements of the organisation to achieve the strategic objectives while satisfying regulatory requirements.

The Head of IT Change and Transformation reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibility:

Monex Europe Globally

  • Responsible for Monex’s Internal & Client technology & application systems, Business Continuity & Data Management;
  • Ensuring that the Monex group complies with its Legal and Regulatory requirements;
  • To set the tone for an inclusive and supportive culture for all Monex staff;

Technology & Data:

  • Setting the Company’s Technical application roadmap in order to develop and support Monex’s growth strategy;
  • Ensuring effective security and processes are in place to permit access to only the necessary company information.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining all Internal application Systems (e.g. Trading platforms & associated support systems etc.) & Client related Technology;
  • Overall responsibility for the effective delivery of business change requirements and management of 3rd party providers involved in delivering change activities
  • Ensuring the company is GDPR compliant (in relation to both Employee & Client (identifying & transactional) Data);

Business Continuity

  • Working with the Global Head of IT and other stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of Monex’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) & Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) ensuring ongoing operation in the case of minor/major incidents which can impact Monex’s day to day operations;

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills:

  • Previous experience of working within a regulated investment firm or strong equivalent demonstrable knowledge within a relevant Financial Services firm;
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment in which an FX firm operates;
  • Strong knowledge of FX and derivatives.
  • Responsible for Monex Europe’s application development software  lifecycle including Business Analysis, Architecture, Development, Testing and Application Support
  • Management of 3rd party development partners
  • Leading the formation and on-boarding of an in-house offshore development team
  • Responsible for all IT change and project delivery including business case formation and effective prioritisation of changes
  • Managing all requests for business change and new technology requirements
  • Working with the Monex Europe Product team to scope new product initiatives and technology opportunities
  • Ensuring that Monex Europe group complies with the Legal and Regulatory requirements across Jurisdictions
  • Developing the Company’s Application Technology roadmap to support Monex’s growth strategy
  • Ensuring effective application cyber security.
  • Responsible for Developing and Supporting all internal and client facing systems
  • Investigating new technology applications and software aligned with the company’s strategic goals
  • Managing large scale business change and smaller change request prioritisation
  • Manging Quarterly IT Change prioritisation with global business stakeholders.
  • Participating in the Global Platform initiative with stakeholders across Monex Group
  • Representing Monex Europe on the International Innovation Committee
  • Working with Monex USA and Monex Mexico stakeholders to leverage group capabilities for Technology.
  • Supporting  IT Audits
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the purpose of risk management and compliance within a regulated environment;

  • Leads by example, embodying the culture and values of the Company;
  • Cultivate an environment of psychological safety, innovation, creativity and increased productivity;
  • Able to anticipate issues and risks and mitigate accordingly;
  • Credibility in dealing with clients and colleagues across a complex organisations with different cultures and geographies;
  • Ensuring and maintaining the standard of all documentation for their department’s systems, controls, policies and processes;
