Ohme is on a mission to accelerate the global transition to clean, affordable energy. We do that by serving as an integrated hardware and software smart-grid platform, focused on the residential EV charging market.

Ohme has been selling its chargers to consumers since mid 2019 and has had exponential growth since. We are now operating in multiple countries and have partnerships with the likes of VW, Mercedes, Octopus Energy, and other innovative brands.

Ohme is looking for an Head of International Communications to act as the strategic partner to the Mobility Director, using communications, media engagement, public affairs, and thought leadership to elevate Ohme’s position. You will represent Ohme at major industry events, conferences, and stakeholder forums, driving engagement with policymakers, regulators, fleet organisations, and industry associations. In addition, you will build and execute Ohme’s international external affairs strategy, strengthening our reputation and influence with OEMs, policymakers, industry bodies, analysts, and key stakeholders across priority markets.

We are looking for a strategic operator who understands that communications is a commercial tool, not a support function and can translate complex technical and commercial narratives. The ideal candidate is proactive, editorially confident, and internationally minded.

Essential
  • 8+ years in external affairs, strategic communications, or public affairs
  • Demonstrable relationships with or experience engaging tier-1 business, automotive, or energy media
  • Track record working across multiple international markets
  • Experience supporting commercial or institutional sales teams through communications and policy engagement
  • Social media strategy experience at corporate or leadership level
  • Strong writer in English; comfortable managing and adapting executive voice and tone
  • Digitally fluent and comfortable using AI tools as part of day-to-day workflow
Strongly preferred
  • Fluency or strong working proficiency in one or more European languages
  • In-market experience in non-English-speaking European countries
  • Automotive, EV, energy, or mobility sector background
  • Experience managing the external profile of C-suite or senior leadership
