We are seeking a Head of Internal Compliance to lead Kraken’s internal compliance function, ensuring our operations, processes, and people consistently adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
This role will be responsible for building, scaling, and overseeing Kraken’s internal compliance program, while partnering closely with our Product Compliance team to ensure alignment between regulatory strategy and execution. As a strategic advisor to leadership, you will help the business navigate regulatory complexity and enable responsible, sustainable growth.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping how Kraken balances innovation with responsibility. You will help the company move quickly while staying aligned with evolving global regulatory expectations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and evolve Kraken’s internal compliance program, including policies, controls, and governance frameworks. 
  • Ensure company-wide adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. 
  • Design and implement risk-based compliance frameworks, identifying and mitigating areas of vulnerability. 
  • Lead the risk committee, perform internal audits, monitoring, and investigations into compliance issues or incidents. 
  • Partner with Legal, Privacy, Regulatory, AI, Finance, Security, Engineering, Product and People teams to embed compliance into day-to-day operations. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Compliance team on regulatory interpretation, new product launches, and jurisdictional requirements. 
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, translating them into actionable business requirements. 
  • Build and deliver training programs to promote a strong culture of compliance across the organization. 
  • Serve as a key point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders. 
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. 

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12+ years of experience in compliance, risk, legal, or regulatory roles in tech, SaaS, or other regulated industries.  
  • Proven experience building and scaling compliance programs in high-growth environments. 
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, NIS, GDPR and other data/privacy frameworks, Anti-Trust and AML regulations). 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulations into practical business processes. 

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CRCMP, CISSP). 
  • Law degree and extensive practice experienc
