We’re reinventing payments. In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year. But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The role

We're looking for a Head of People Experience to lead our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). As part of our People Leadership Team, you'll step in, build rapid trust, and maintain high-impact delivery without wasting a second. You'll lead our Internal Communications, Workplace Experience, and Employer Brand teams while advising our Co-Founders on executive communications. If you're an agile leader energised by both big-picture strategy and hands-on execution, we want to hear from you.

What you will do...

  • Lead and develop the team: Mentor, develop, and drive high performance across the Internal Communications, Workplace Experience, and Employer Brand teams.
  • Own internal communications: Maintain our business-wide communications strategy to keep our global teams informed, aligned, and engaged.
  • Advise senior leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to our Co-Founders and Executive Team on strategic messaging, Quarterly Business Reviews, change initiatives, and overall workforce alignment.
  • Bring Dojo's EVP to life: Ensure our Employee Value Proposition is authentically embedded across all internal culture initiatives, employee activities, and external employer branding efforts.
  • Steer employee listening: Oversee the team in analysing employee feedback, steering the overall strategy and roadmap, and ensuring insights are translated into impactful interventions which boost morale and productivity.
  • Oversee the People Experience budget: ensure our internal events and workplaces achieve cost-efficiency without compromising on experience.
  • Complete a team diagnostic: Outline areas of strength and areas of opportunity for optimising, strengthening, and further developing the People Experience team.

What you will bring...

  • Communications expertise: Proven experience leading business-wide internal communications, ideally within a fast-paced tech or scale-up environment.
  • Multi-disciplinary leadership: Experience leading a team with varied, distinct skills across internal communications, workplace, and employer branding.
  • Executive presence: The confidence to partner directly with Co-Founders and C-suite leaders to shape complex messaging.
  • Strategic execution: You're equally energised by high-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute alongside your team.
  • Operational excellence: Experience managing budgets and projects across multiple international sites with a focus on efficiency and ROI.
  • Agility and resilience: The adaptability to step into our ecosystem, build rapid trust, and maintain continuous high-impact delivery.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.

You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.

You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.

From local bakeries to well-known eateries, Dojo payments serve over 150,000 places across the UK.

Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences.

If you care about your work, you’re curious, and you think customer-first, you have a place at Dojo.
