What is the job?

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of FP&A at a pivotal stage in our growth. You will build on the foundations already in place, bringing commercial insight, structure and ambition to how we plan, forecast and make decisions across Montu’s European businesses.

You will be a trusted partner to leaders across Commercial, Marketing, Technology and the wider business. Your insight will directly shape strategic decisions, investment priorities and business performance at leadership level.

With significant scope to influence how the function evolves, this role also offers a clear path to building and leading an FP&A team as the business continues to scale.

What you will own?

Financial Planning & Modelling

  • Set the strategic direction for FP&A across Europe, owning and continuously evolving the financial models that underpin forecasting, scenario planning, and three-way modelling

  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle and regular re-forecasts end to end, setting the standard for how the business plans

  • Own long-term planning and investment decision support, including scenario analysis, commercial modelling, and business case development for board-level initiatives

Performance & Insight

  • Own monthly reporting and variance analysis at leadership and board level, connecting financial performance to strategic drivers

  • Act as the senior finance partner to functional leads, translating numbers into insight and holding leadership teams accountable to budgets and OKRs

  • Identify the story behind the numbers and use it to influence strategic direction, not just report on it

Tooling & Infrastructure

  • Own the roadmap for financial planning and reporting infrastructure across the business

  • Work with the Data & Analytics team to automate reporting and improve the quality, speed, and accessibility of financial data across the business

  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset - spotting opportunities for better process, tooling, and reporting before they become bottlenecks

Leadership & Influence

  • Build and lead the FP&A team as the function scales, with direct hiring and management responsibility

  • Act as a senior commercial partner and advisor to leaders across the business, including at board level

  • Set the standards, governance, and processes this function will run on long-term

  • Represent Finance in strategic, board, and investor-facing discussions

What we are looking for

  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering, including experience operating at senior/leadership level in a fast-paced or scaling environment

  • Fully ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with advanced financial modelling and planning expertise

  • Demonstrated experience building and owning complex forecasts, including three-way financial models, from scratch

  • Proven experience building an FP&A function or reporting infrastructure - this is essential, not a plus

  • A genuinely commercial, board-ready mindset - curious about the whole business, not just Finance

  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence and build trust with senior leadership and board members

  • Comfort with significant ambiguity and a track record of taking full ownership in high-growth, evolving environments

  • Prior experience managing or building a team is strongly preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience in high-volume D2C or tech-enabled businesses

  • Experience supporting fundraising, board reporting, or investor relations

  • Experience selecting and implementing FP&A or reporting tools/platforms

Why This Role?

  • Genuine ownership - you're not inheriting a function, you're building one

  • Visibility - direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making from day one

  • Growth - a clear path to building and leading a team as FP&A scales with the business

  • Impact - your models and insight will directly shape how the company plans, invests, and grows

What we offer:

  • Generous Leave: 25 days holiday (rising to 27 after year one and 30 after year three) + 8 bank holidays.

  • Pension Matching: Up to 5% employer matching contributions.

  • Flexibility and Wellness: Work-from-home options, cycle-to-work scheme, private healthcare and more.

  • Growth Opportunities: Collaborate across teams with support to grow your skills and impact.

  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave.
