HEAD OF FLIGHTSOCIALSREPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, COMMERCIAL GROWTHABOUT FLIGHTSTORY:

We are a media company and investment fund, and we’re on a mission to elevate the stories, build the communities, and support the founders that inspire a happier, healthier humanity. We scale creator-led new media IP and operate an investment fund and venture studio.

ABOUT FLIGHTSOCIALS:

FlightSocials is FlightStory's media growth agency. We partner with creators to turn their content catalogues into revenue, producing high volumes of short-form video and monetising it on Facebook and other platforms. We leverage the tools and experience developed through growing Steven Bartlett’s own accounts together with the Diary Of A CEO account.

We manage the social accounts for a number of large creators and talent, helping them to grow both revenue and audience on the platforms.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We're looking for a Head of FlightSocials to own the team and the business day-to-day. You'll lead the media growth managers and editors, and you'll be accountable for how the team performs commercially. You'll also be the main point of contact for our creator and talent partners. You'll run the operational processes that keep the business functioning: performance reporting, invoicing and payments, and people management.

This role suits a commercially minded operator who has experience building audiences on Facebook, is able to talk fluently to the mechanics of building and growing on the platform, and is comfortable leading and managing a team of 5+ people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Team leadership and management

  • Lead, coach and develop the FlightSocials team, including media growth managers and editors

  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, and run regular 1:1s, reviews and development plans

  • Own resourcing and hiring: define team structure, recruit, and onboard new joiners

  • Build a high-performance culture focused on output quality, speed and commercial impact

  • Manage the working relationship with adjacent teams (including the social brand team), balancing revenue-driven and audience-growth priorities and escalating trade-offs when needed

  • Build the FlightSocials brand both internally and externally

2. Performance and reporting

  • Own daily and weekly performance reporting across channels, pages and creator partners

  • Track and interpret key metrics (views, reach, engagement, revenue, RPM, and revenue per creator and per asset) and turn them into clear actions

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting rhythms that give leadership an accurate, real-time picture of the business

  • Identify what's working and what isn't, and steer content strategy and production priorities accordingly

  • Forecast revenue, and flag risks and opportunities early

  • Report regularly to the Director and wider leadership on progress against targets and the P&L

3. Creator and talent relationship management

  • Act as the relationship owner for creators, managers and talent partners

  • Manage onboarding, communication and ongoing account health for active partnerships

  • Work with the Creator Partnerships function to source, evaluate and sign new creators, applying a consistent scoring framework (audience geography, content catalogue, brand appeal, platform reach and strategic fit)

  • Negotiate and manage commercial terms, including revenue-share arrangements, and handle escalations or disputes diplomatically

  • Give partners regular, transparent performance updates and ideas for growth

  • Represent FlightStory credibly in conversations with creators, agencies and managers

4. Operations and administration

  • Own invoicing and payment processes, including revenue-share statements and payouts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Work with Finance to ensure clean reconciliation, reporting and compliance

  • Handle HR-related matters for the team, working with People/HR on hiring, contracts, performance and any employee relations issues

  • Maintain contracts, documentation and process standards across partnerships

  • Continuously improve workflows, tooling and automation to reduce manual effort and increase scalability

COMPETENCIES
  • 5+ years experience in media, social, digital publishing, creator economy or a similar performance-driven environment

  • Hands-on knowledge of Facebook and short-form video monetisation and distribution

  • Proven experience managing and developing a team, ideally including creative or production staff

  • Familiarity with high-volume video production workflows

  • Strong track record of using data to drive decisions, with confidence in analytics platforms, dashboards and spreadsheets

  • Demonstrable experience managing commercial or partner relationships, ideally with creators, talent, agencies or publishers

  • Commercial acumen: comfort with revenue-share models, P&L ownership and forecasting

  • Practical experience running or overseeing admin processes such as invoicing, contracts and payments

  • Experience handling people management issues, with sound judgement and discretion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and credibility when dealing with senior stakeholders and external partners

  • Comfort with automation and AI-enabled tooling to improve efficiency
