Job Overview

  • Actively involved in all aspects of the 360 Sales Cycle: 
  • Prospecting & Lead generation (sourcing & pitching);
  • Planning Sales calls, Meetings, Post Call follow ups;
  • Presentations & Documentation;
  • Owning/Implementing Sales;
  • Post Sale Follow-Up, Repeat Sales & Upselling;
  • Developing & maintaining strong Client Relationships (via Trading team where appropriate).
  • Maintaining current market knowledge (e.g. reading Financial press, attending webinars etc.);
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline and forecast;
  • Meeting set Sales targets/KPI’s on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis;
  • Keeping accurate records and client interaction notes in the Company database FXDB (in line with GDPR requirements);

Compliance, Risk & Regulatory

  • Working effectively and collaboratively with Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance teams to complete the Client onboarding process in line with Company and regulatory requirements;
  • Ensuring adequate knowledge of their client (KYC) to enable the firm to deliver appropriate and suitable products and services;
  • Liaise with Risk and Traders re. credit facilities;
  • Engaging with the client with integrity, ensuring high service standards and in accordance with Monex policies;
  • Understand and adhere to Monex’s complaints procedure and escalating where necessary;
  • Identify and appropriately manage conflicts of interest in accordance with regulatory and company requirements;
  • Ensure that the role as first line defence is undertaken with diligence;
  • Ensure adherence with the FCA's 11 principles of business.

FCA Certification
The role holder will be an FCA authorised employee, requiring certification by Monex for the client dealing function under the SMCR. The individual carries personal accountability for their area of responsibility in accordance with section 63E(1) FSMA 2000.
The Company is required to certify annually that the individual is, and remains, fit and proper, and competent to carry out their duties; to manage and act as first line of defence for all appropriate risk, compliance and operational controls affecting the business area, ensure compliance of their activities with rules and regulations, asking the Compliance Department for advice where necessary.
The holder of the role will be assessed for certification both at commencement and thereafter on a continuous basis. To continue in the role, the individual will need to meet and continue to demonstrate fitness and propriety, competence and capability.
The holder of this role is subject to first tier conduct rules.
Professional / Managerial Autonomy
Can undertake all Sales related activity unsupervised but seeks guidance from the Head of Institutional Sales when additional support is needed.
Committee Roles

  • Active participant in relevant Sales Management team meetings
  • Presents a regular ‘stand-up’ presentation/market report to peer group and Sales Managers based on the prior 24 hours’ market news/updates.

Other Delegated Responsibilities

  • Discretionary permission from the Group Sales Director can be granted on a case by case basis to pitch to international Clients in Canada and Singapore on behalf of MEL and liaising with the Trading team for MEM.

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Previous Sales experience within a Business to Business (BtoB) role;
  • Experience of working within in a regulated financial services firm is highly desirable;
  • Proven track record of operating at a Senior Sales Manager level within a commercial Sales environment (both face to face and telephone sales);
  • Able to clearly articulate full understanding of end to end Sales processes;
  • Able to demonstrate strong Sales techniques (Persuasive, Negotiation & Closing skills);
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the purpose of risk management and compliance within a regulated environment;
  • Some knowledge of FX products;

  • Credibility in dealing with clients and colleagues across a complex organisation with different cultures and geographies;
  • Leads by example, embodying the culture and values of the Company;
  • Cultivate an environment of psychological safety, innovation, creativity and increased productivity;
  • Able to anticipate issues and risks and mitigate accordingly;
  • Ensuring and maintaining the standard of all documentation for their department’s systems, controls, policies and processes;
  • Maintenance of decision making records.
