Company:MarshDescription:
We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh Re as our Head of Cyber Reinsurance Catastrophe Modelling. You will lead a portfolio of cyber catastrophe modelling and analytics engagements, combining deep technical oversight with client- and market-facing advisory to support treaty and retro reinsurance placements. This role will shape and articulate our view of cyber tail risk and accumulation, translating complex model outputs into clear, defensible insights and actionable brokerage advice.
We will count on you to:
- Manage resource planning across a portfolio of cyber catastrophe modelling and analytics engagements, ensuring the team is deployed efficiently to support business needs (placements, renewals, portfolio steering, and advisory) and that delivery timelines and quality standards are met.
- Lead and oversee multiple complex cyber catastrophe modelling projects with significant client- and market-facing interaction, in order to quantify cyber accumulation, tail risk, and potential loss outcomes for treaty and retro reinsurance placements.
- Review and challenge complex analyses produced by team members using cyber catastrophe models and cyber exposure/accumulation frameworks, evaluating assumptions, data quality, model settings, scenario selection, and sensitivity testing in order to produce credible, defensible loss estimates for clients and reinsurers.
- Review and sign off client deliverables (summaries, presentations, placement support materials, model documentation, and technical memos) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clear articulation of uncertainty, and to provide value-added brokerage advisory (e.g., limit and structure considerations, portfolio optimisation, and communication of cyber cat drivers to markets).
- Provide people leadership by mentoring, coaching, and developing analysts and modellers; setting objectives; reviewing performance and work quality; and building a high-performing team culture focused on technical excellence, commercial impact, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a recognised subject-matter expert in selected cyber peril and/or region/industry segments (e.g., systemic cloud/service-provider outages, ransomware/widespread malware, data compromise, critical infrastructure disruption), contributing to the firm’s intellectual capital (methodologies, benchmarks, model governance, and thought leadership) and supporting business development through credible technical engagement with clients and reinsurers.
- Develop a Marsh Re cyber view of risk clearly documenting the assumptions, rationale and data supporting it whilst highlighting the strengths and limitations of existing cyber vendor models.
What you need to have:
- Experience in reinsurance, catastrophe modelling, or portfolio accumulation analysis would be highly beneficial, particularly within treaty and/or retro placements.
- Extensive experience leading catastrophe modelling and analytics workstreams, with demonstrated ownership of delivery quality, timelines, and stakeholder management.
- Strong technical expertise in cyber catastrophe modelling and/or cyber accumulation/exposure frameworks, including the ability to challenge modelling assumptions and communicate uncertainty appropriately.
- Proven experience producing and signing off client-ready technical deliverables (summaries, presentations, placement support materials, model documentation, and technical memos) for senior stakeholders
- People leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing analysts/modellers and driving a high-performing team culture
What makes you stand out?
- Recognised expertise in one or more cyber systemic peril themes (e.g., cloud/service-provider outage, ransomware/widespread malware, data compromise, critical infrastructure disruption) and ability to apply that expertise to placement strategy and market engagement
- Experience building intellectual capital (methodologies, benchmarks, model governance, thought leadership) and supporting business development through credible technical engagement with clients and reinsurers
- Strong commercial mindset and ability to translate modelling outputs into actionable reinsurance advisory (e.g., limit/structure considerations and portfolio optimisation).
Why join our team:
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients
- and communities.
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
