We are looking for a Head of Corporate Assurance and Internal Controls. This role will ensure effective and efficient Internal Controls for ABB Robotics. This person will be the end-to-end owner of assurance and internal control and have authority on design, delivery strategy and resourcing such that it supports achieving Robotics’ business goals while complying with policies, laws and regulations. In line with this, this person should drive the control framework to be effective as well as efficient focusing on automation controls and standardization.

You own the internal controls framework, and your role is to make sure the group has an integrated and agile Assurance and Internal Controls (AIC) framework that is adaptable to a changing environment and able to identify and manage evolving risks and remediate control deficiencies together with the business in a timely manner in line with ABB Robotics’ assurance policy.

You will further enhance the control environment through co-operation with business, fostering clear accountability for risks and control activities.

The position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer of ABB Robotics.

Your responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the assurance & internal controls framework and related internal policies as well as proactively addressing new regulatory requirements.

  • Accountable for ABB Robotics’ governance matters such as ABB Robotics Governance Framework, Authorization Tables, Fiduciary Duties, Segregation of Duties, etc. as part of the Assurance and Internal Control Process ownership.

  • Developing a dynamic risk assessment approach to ensure the teams are focusing on the right things at the right time.

  • Driving innovation through benchmarking with best-in-class industry references.

  • Determining continuous improvement actions increasing maturity as well as automation and digitally enabled controls; synchronizing improvement plans with stakeholders.

  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, ensuring that design, delivery and documentation support business requirements. Establishing accountability framework and KPIs; monitoring performance and presenting results regularly to stakeholders.

  • Holding regular reviews of performance with appropriate stakeholders, executing a governance model ensuring cross-functional awareness and support.

  • Driving competence development and training and enable global communication about AIC matters on all relevant levels.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Master’s degree in finance or related areas required.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in global roles in the areas of internal controls or risk management, preferably in industry.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading an international team.

  • CIA certification a plus.

  • Good understanding of J-SOX regulations as well as process driven internal controls frameworks preferred.

  • Outstanding leadership, communication and influencing skills.

  • Proven track record in improving internal controls, transforming and automating processes, remediating control deficiencies and change management with strategic thinking.

  • Relevant experience in a complex, diverse and multi-dimensional global organization of significant size and scale for which change and transformation is critical to success.

  • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time, creating and driving appropriate priorities and capable to translate complex methodologies into simply defined practical and automated solutions.

  • Recognized as great team player and appreciated for collaboration and business partnering skills.
