ABB Robotics is seeking a Senior Media Relations Manager to enhance the company's narrative and global media presence.
This strategic position demands an advanced skillset in corporate reputation management, media relations, and technical storytelling. You'll shape ABB Robotics' presence in the media, with particular focus on Europe, coordinate executive visibility initiatives, and partner with product teams to translate innovative software and robotics advancements into compelling narratives that are easy to grasp for tech and Tier-1 business media audiences.
You'll manage executive stakeholder engagement spanning corporate reputation, crisis readiness, and media relations in a sector experiencing unprecedented technological acceleration. You'll position the company at the forefront of conversations shaping industry, from automotive, to construction, healthcare, logistics and beyond, as ABB Robotics’ portfolio continues to enable greater productivity, sustainability, and workforce evolution.
Location is flexible within Europe at an ABB Robotics location.

Responsibilities:
- Design and execute integrated media strategies, with particular focus on European markets, positioning ABB Robotics as the leader in next-generation robotics in broader conversations about the role of robotics in industrial policy, technological competitiveness and economic transformation.
- Build and maintain relationships with Tier-1 business, technology, industrial, and trade media.
- Work closely with European markets to discover and develop compelling content that drives media coverage, awareness and action.
- Establish crisis communications protocols for scenarios ranging from product issues to regulatory challenges around robotics.
- Partner with global communications teams, regional business leaders, government affairs, and sustainability teams on integrated stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate CEO and executive media engagements across European markets
- Support executive communications team with European market insights and media landscape expertise.
- Manage relationships with key journalists and editorial boards to facilitate executive-level engagement.
- Identify speaking opportunities and media platforms that amplify executive visibility in European markets.
- Partner with product communications teams to ensure alignment between corporate narrative and product messaging.
Qualifications for the role
- 10+ years in corporate communications with demonstrated media relations expertise, including a broad network within Tier 1 business media.
- Native level in English required both written and spoken; additional European languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish) highly valued.
- Experience in crafting media strategies that boosted corporate reputation or market positioning.
- International experience managing multi-market communications programs.
- Background and interest in technology, manufacturing, or robotics with an understanding of robotics, or adjacent technology domains (AI, machine learning, adaptive automation).
- Experience coordinating executive communications and media engagements.
- Established a history of working effectively alongside product, marketing, and technical teams in significant organizations, exhibiting excellent project management skills.
- Skilled at interacting and managing relationships with stakeholders; business journalists, policymakers, industry analysts, and investors.
- Crisis communications experience, particularly around safety, workforce, or regulatory issues related to robotics.
- Proficiency in evaluating market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- Cultural agility to navigate market differences in regulatory environments, media landscapes, and business cultures.
