Job Description

Ready to shape the reputation, influence and stakeholder relationships of one of the UK’s largest energy companies? Do you want to work alongside senior leaders, help navigate complex policy challenges, and engage with decision-makers across government, industry and regulation? At EDF, Success is Personal – and this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

The Opportunity

As Head of Corporate Affairs (12 month fixed term contract), you'll lead a critical function at the centre of EDF UK's external engagement agenda. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll help shape the organisation's reputation, strengthen influential stakeholder relationships, and ensure EDF's voice is heard on some of the UK's most important energy and policy discussions as we support the transition towards An Electric Britain.

You’ll join us on a salary of circa £90k - £100k per annum (depending upon experience) plus 10% bonus, car allowance and private healthcare. This role is based at EDF’s Nova North office in #London, Victoria, with flexibility to work from home. You'll also engage directly with stakeholders across government, industry and the wider energy sector, with occasional travel to support key meetings and events.

Operating in a fast-moving and highly visible environment, you'll advise executive leaders on strategic external affairs matters, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and lead engagement programmes that deliver measurable outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to work on issues that influence both EDF's future direction and the UK's evolving energy landscape.

Within Corporate Finance's Strategy and Policy function, you'll join a collaborative leadership team that plays a key role in shaping EDF UK's long-term priorities. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues who are committed to supporting growth, developing talent and delivering positive outcomes for customers, communities and the wider energy sector.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Head of Corporate Affairs with proven experience leading external affairs, stakeholder engagement and reputation strategies in complex environments. You'll bring sound judgement, strategic thinking and the credibility to influence at the most senior levels. To be shortlisted, you need to offer...

  • Significant experience in corporate affairs, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or strategic communications within a regulated industry
  • Proven experience developing and delivering corporate affairs or stakeholder engagement strategies that achieve measurable outcomes
  • Strong experience advising executive and senior leadership teams on complex external affairs, stakeholder and reputational matters
  • Demonstrable experience managing political, regulatory and stakeholder relationships at senior levels, alongside complex reputational issues
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams while delivering strategic engagement programmes across large organisations

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading EDF UK's corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy to protect and enhance the organisation's reputation
  • Building and maintaining influential relationships with government departments, policymakers, regulators, industry bodies and key external stakeholders
  • Providing strategic counsel to executive leaders on stakeholder, political, regulatory and reputational matters
  • Identifying emerging external developments, assessing their impact and recommending effective responses
  • Leading a high-performing team while partnering with Strategy, Policy and Communications colleagues to deliver integrated engagement activity

Benefits and Culture

Alongside a salary of circa £90k - £100k per annum (depending upon experience), plus 10% bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
