As Head of Consultant Engagement, you will play a critical leadership role in strengthening consultant relationships, driving commercial growth, and enhancing the consultant and patient experience.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the hospital, you'll lead the consultant engagement and retention strategy, ensuring our consultants receive outstanding support while contributing to the hospital's strategic ambitions. Through insight-led decision making, operational excellence, and a strong understanding of the private healthcare market, you'll help drive quality, innovation, revenue growth, and service development.

How you’ll help us make health happen

  • Lead and deliver the consultant engagement and retention strategy, driving consultant satisfaction, loyalty, and growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic and high-value consultants, acting as a trusted partner and senior point of contact.
  • Use data, insight, and market intelligence to identify opportunities to improve consultant experience, activity, and commercial performance.
  • Drive business growth through effective consultant engagement, service development, and identification of new opportunities.
  • Lead strategic projects that improve consultant pathways, operational efficiency, utilisation, and patient experience.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and commercial teams to ensure a seamless experience for consultants, their practice teams, and patients.
  • Act as the voice of the consultant community, influencing internal stakeholders and shaping hospital strategy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Consultant Engagement team, creating a high-performance culture.
  • Contribute as a senior member of the Commercial Leadership Team, supporting hospital performance and strategic planning.

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing consultant relationships, consultant engagement programmes, or clinician partnerships.
  • Significant senior leadership experience within private healthcare or healthcare services is essential.
  • Strong track record of driving commercial growth, business development, and service development.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated healthcare environment.
  • Skilled at building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders, including consultants and executive leaders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities, and improve performance.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and delivering change within complex organisations.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
