Job Title: Group Tax Manager

Location: UK Wide (Hybrid - Occasional travel to office)

 

About the role:

We are hiring a Group Tax Manager to join BSI’s Group Finance function, reporting to the Group Tax Director.

This is a key role within the Group Tax team, providing technical expertise across tax reporting, corporate tax compliance, and broader tax matters. You will support delivery of the Group’s tax strategy, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to high-quality tax reporting for statutory accounts and external disclosures.

The role offers exposure across direct and indirect taxes, international considerations, and engagement with senior stakeholders and external advisors within a global organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of the Group Tax strategy and assist in developing tax policies and processes.

  • Manage preparation and filing of UK corporate tax returns in conjunction with external advisers.

  • Support tax reporting for year-end financial statements, including calculation and disclosure of the Group’s Effective Tax Rate (ETR) and related KPIs.

  • Prepare UK quarterly corporate tax instalment calculations and support Group tax cash forecasting.

  • Assist with UK Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certification processes.

  • Support responses to tax audits and manage preparation of required schedules and documentation.

  • Monitor developments in tax legislation and communicate relevant changes to management and stakeholders.

  • Provide financial support to the Group Transfer Pricing Manager as required.

  • Support tax accounting and reporting undertaken by the Shared Service Centre.

  • Engage directly with external advisers and senior business stakeholders to support the effective operation of the Group Tax function.

 

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent); Chartered Tax Adviser qualification desirable.

  • Strong post-qualification finance experience with demonstrable knowledge of direct and indirect tax activity in at least one jurisdiction.

  • Experience of corporate tax compliance and year-end tax reporting within a Group environment.

  • Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and the ability to assimilate complex information quickly.

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and external advisers.

  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and presentation capability.

  • Good systems knowledge, including Excel and Word; experience with SAP and EPM desirable.

  • A proactive, logical, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.

Desirable:

  • International tax exposure.

  • Experience supporting transfer pricing matters.
