The Opportunity
We are looking for three keen and reliable people to join our busy Open Space Management team as a Groundsperson.
Your daily activities will involve basic horticulture maintenance within landscapes, annual planting and spray maintenance. Work will include using various tools from hand tools to small power tools.
You will be working a minimum of 40 hours a week however flexibility is a must as there is the occasional time where you may have to work night shift or be called in to assist in afterhours call outs.
About you
You’ll demonstrate strong initiative and a proactive mindset, thriving in a dynamic environment while contributing to running a temperamental yet highly performing roading network.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following:
- A minimum of Class 1 full licence, Class 2 preferable
- Basic horticulture skills preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Be reliable and trustworthy.
- Proactive around Health and Safety.
- And of course you will be a team player, have an eye for detail, and a can-do attitude.
- Preferably hold a Growsafe certification and be comfortable working with chemicals.
- Be confident working on State Highways in proximity to traffic.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in road construction and the groundspace is desired although not essential.
