The Collectibles category is both eBay's historical core, and a dynamic, forward-thinking business providing a strong contribution to growth within eBay's recent business performance. This role owns the UK Collectables business, covering categories as diverse as Trading Cards, Coins, Comics, Sports, Memorabilia, Art, Antiques, and is responsible for driving the UK business performance and local strategy for this critical eBay category.

As GM of UK Collectables, you will operate in a complex, matrixed Fortune 500 environment, collaborating with Collectables EU and global leadership, UK regional leadership, corporate center, and shared services such as Product, Technology, Marketing, and Customer Support. Your leadership will be crucial to driving continued business growth and maintaining eBay’s UK leadership in a fiercely competitive, rapidly evolving marketplace.

What you will accomplish

  • P&L Leadership: Own and drive the full P&L for the UK Collectables business, ensuring sustained growth, profitability, and operational excellence across all Collectables categories.

  • Strategic Direction: Develop and implement category strategies that anticipate UK market trends, drive innovation, and secure eBay’s leadership in-market, including annual and long-range planning.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a high-performing team of ~12, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration across the Global Collectables team, and with all key supporting functions.

  • Innovation: Ensure the power of AI is integrated into both internal operations and customer facing experiences

  • Participant Coordination: Build and maintain positive relationships with eBay’s UK regional Leadership Team and functional partners (e.g., Marketing), ensuring seamless alignment and progress of key central initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead all aspects of category operations, analytics, reporting, and funnel performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Seller & Customer Focus: Champion the needs of the platform’s largest sellers and diverse buyers, to drive an ever higher standard for the Collectables customer experience on the eBay platform.

  • External Partnerships: Build relationships with key UK industry partners, to bring new inventory, and innovative experience to eBay buyers and sellers.

What you will bring

  • Experience: Operating at Director level, with growing responsibility as a general manager in an online high-growth marketplace, digital platform, or retail environment; past strategic or management consulting is a plus. 

  • Operational Mastery: Deep expertise in marketplace dynamics, data-driven decision-making, and outstanding operational performance.

  • Industry Passion: Excitement for eBay’s mission and the Collectables industry

  • Strategic Acumen: Validated ability to set vision, develop strategy, and implement complex initiatives at scale, with a track record of delivering results in highly competitive markets.

  • Stakeholder Influence: Outstanding executive presence and communication skills, with experience managing relationships across senior leaders, and cross-functional partners.

  • Global Perspective: Demonstrated success leading a local team and influencing global cross functional partners and support functions in a matrixed, multinational environment.
