Join a front-office structuring leadership role in a fast-paced trading floor environment where you lead client solutioning from idea to execution. You will broaden your platform across commodities sales and trading, QR, banking and other partners while building deep expertise in structuring commodities solutions. This is an opportunity to sharpen and lead pricing, modeling, documentation, and risk management while driving impactful client outcomes. 


As an Executive Director in the structuring team, you will apply a strong understanding of commodities market drivers, risk, capital considerations, and regulatory frameworks to support thoughtful execution across the transaction lifecycle.


Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead structuring development, documentation, modelling and pricing of commodities – with a focus on power & gas
  • Originate and distribute structures, partnering closely with internal stakeholders and engaging clients with clear, credible desk ideas
  • Understand drivers of relevant markets including but not limited to commodity price dynamics, volatility, basis risk, credit risk, market risk, capital requirements, legal framework, regulatory requirements, and de-risk channels; establish a high degree of competence with both internal stakeholders and clients around executing trades
  • Understand the firm’s approach and policies for managing risks in relevant business and applicable legal and regulatory rules, and follow policies; serve as a senior escalation point on trade design and execution risks
  • Build foundation of trust with both internal stakeholders and clients by demonstrating an understanding of their needs, clearly articulating desk ideas, and being responsive
  • Prepare and oversee presentation materials, financial models, internal risk analysis memos, and term sheets; work with legal to negotiate transaction documents
  • Oversee the post trade process by ensuring the accuracy of all entries and to ensure internal controls are followed; provide senior ownership of execution quality and governance

Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
  • Significant experience working within commodities structuring
  • Significant experience working in commodities structuring / physical and financial power & gas
  • Entrepreneurial drive with strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Well versed in the quantitative nature and framework of own product (e.g., documentation, pricing, models, etc.)
  • Understands the different types of risk and can discuss in detail ways of managing these risk
  • Demonstrable proficiency with market and product lingo
  • Execution orientated with thorough understanding of drivers in relevant markets, transaction cycle, the steps in the process and able to explain and anticipate market movements.

  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity and target messages to different audiences
  • Ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
