The Global Head of Portfolio Management is a critical leadership role within State Street Investment Management's Investment Solutions Group (ISG). Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, this individual will be accountable for the portfolio management outcomes globally and overseeing the implementation and management of investment solutions across ISG's multi-asset offerings.

You will play a central role in advancing ISG's investment capabilities by driving consistency, collaboration, and best practices across regions while ensuring investment solutions are delivered effectively to clients. You will have responsibility within our active asset allocation franchise, and work across client segments such as institutional, defined contribution, and wealth. You will work closely with investment research, client portfolio management, manager research, strategists, and other investment professionals to support product development, portfolio implementation, and innovation across the platform.

You will bring deep investment expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to manage a geographically dispersed teams in a highly collaborative and client-focused environment. The role will lead a global portfolio management organization spanning multiple regions and investment disciplines.

As the Global Head of Portfolio Management, you will have oversight of the following activities:

Portfolio Management Leadership

  • Lead the global portfolio management function across ISG investment strategies.

  • Establish strategic priorities and operating objectives for the portfolio management organization.

  • Provide leadership within our active asset allocation investment process

  • Drive consistency in investment implementation, portfolio oversight, and execution across regions.

  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across global portfolio management teams.

  • Build and develop a high-performing team while creating a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Investment Oversight and Portfolio Implementation

  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of investment portfolios across the platform.

  • Ensure portfolios are managed in accordance with investment objectives, guidelines, and client requirements.

  • Partner with investment teams to monitor portfolio outcomes and identify opportunities to enhance investment processes.

  • Promote excellence in portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring, and execution practices.

  • Support the development and evolution of investment processes designed to improve client outcomes.

Talent & Organizational Leadership

  • Provide leadership, development, training and mentorship to support a high-performing global investment organization.

  • Act as the leader on firm wide strategy, talent communications and initiatives.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and intellectually rigorous investment culture that attracts and develops top talent.

  • Act as a visible and engaged leader across offices and markets within the region.

Product Design and Innovation

  • Partner with investment, research, and strategy teams to drive the design and enhancement of investment solutions.

  • Contribute to the development of new products, capabilities, and investment methodologies.

  • Ensure portfolio management perspectives are incorporated into product innovation and strategic initiatives.

  • Support the commercialization and successful implementation of new investment offerings.

Risk Management and Governance

  • Maintain strong portfolio oversight and investment governance standards.

  • Ensure appropriate controls, procedures, and risk management frameworks are implemented across portfolio management activities.

  • Partner with risk, compliance, legal, operations, and technology teams to ensure effective execution of portfolio management responsibilities.

  • Oversee escalation and resolution of portfolio-related issues where appropriate.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a senior investment leader within ISG and State Street Investment Management.

  • Collaborate closely with research, strategy, client-facing, and business leadership teams to support investment objectives.

  • Engage with clients, consultants, and other external stakeholders as needed.

  • Represent the portfolio management organization in senior management discussions and strategic initiatives.

  • Contribute to thought leadership and the ongoing development of ISG's investment platform.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of financial services experience with significant experience in investment management and portfolio management leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience managing global investment teams and complex investment platforms.

  • Deep understanding of multi-asset investing, asset allocation, investment implementation, and portfolio management processes.

  • Experience partnering across investment research, product development, risk management, and client-facing organizations.

  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced degree) preferred.

  • CFA designation or similar professional qualification preferred.

Salary Range:

$225,000 - $337,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
