Role Overview
This Director-level position is based in London and reports locally to the Head of EMEA Operations, with a functional reporting line to the Global Head of Operations. The role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the firm's global Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) function, driving a consistent and effective framework across multiple jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in Client Lifecycle Management, AML, KYC and financial crime regulations, together with a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements. Candidates who currently hold, or have previously held, a senior regulatory leadership position—such as MLRO, Deputy MLRO, or an equivalent international role—will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
As the Global Head of CLM, you will have overall responsibility for the design, implementation and continuous enhancement of the firm's global CLM framework, including ownership of AML policies, procedures, controls and operating standards. You will lead international CLM teams, ensuring global consistency while maintaining compliance with local regulatory obligations and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
The role requires extensive collaboration with Operations, Risk, Compliance and Business stakeholders to ensure robust client onboarding, due diligence and ongoing monitoring processes are in place and operating effectively. You will act as a key partner to Risk and Compliance functions on matters relating to financial crime, regulatory change and risk management, ensuring the business maintains a strong and scalable control environment.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced global leader with a proven track record of building and leading CLM, AML or Financial Crime functions within a complex international financial services environment. Relevant professional qualifications in AML, Compliance, Risk or Financial Crime are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Act as the First Line of Defence lead for Client Lifecycle Management, with overall accountability for AML, KYC, Client Due Diligence (CDD) and client lifecycle processes across all UK regulated entities.
•    Develop, implement and maintain a robust global CLM framework that establishes consistent standards while ensuring full compliance with local and regional AML, KYC and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
•    Ensure local policies, procedures and controls are appropriately adapted, approved and implemented to meet jurisdiction-specific regulatory obligations.
•    Lead and develop global CLM teams, including direct management responsibility for teams based in London and the Channel Islands, together with oversight of all global CLM reporting lines.
•    Partner closely with senior stakeholders across Investments, Operations, Legal, Family Office, Wealth Planning, Financial Services, Corporate Services and other business areas to ensure evolving regulatory requirements and associated risks are effectively assessed and managed.
•    Build strong relationships with Risk and Compliance functions globally, acting as a trusted partner on financial crime, regulatory and risk management matters.
•    Oversee the ongoing development, review and maintenance of CLM, AML and financial crime policies, procedures and controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
•    Ensure key regulatory monitoring activities, including PEP screening, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, periodic reviews and associated compliance programmes, are effectively managed and maintained.
•    Take ownership of the Group's Combined Risk Assessment process, working closely with Risk and Compliance teams to identify emerging risks and implement appropriate enhancements to the control environment.
•    Review and oversee product governance assessments and associated risk evaluations, ensuring appropriate governance standards are maintained.
•    Drive the continued evolution of the CLM operating model, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and client experience.
•    Partner with Operations, Technology, Project teams and external vendors to enhance CLM systems, workflows and CRM capabilities, delivering greater automation and control across the client lifecycle.
•    Lead the resolution of operational, regulatory and process-related issues, implementing sustainable and scalable solutions that support business growth and effective risk management.
•    Own the management and oversight of Internal Audit, Compliance Monitoring and regulatory findings relating to CLM activities.
•    Ensure effective tracking, reporting and closure of remediation actions across all business areas, maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement and control effectiveness.
•    Undertake targeted reviews, thematic assessments and risk testing in areas of elevated regulatory or financial crime risk.
•    Provide oversight and guidance to CLM teams on all aspects of AML, CDD, onboarding and risk assessment activities.
•    Ensure robust risk assessments, due diligence reviews and client screening activities are completed to the required standard, with appropriate escalation and governance applied where necessary.
•    Maintain oversight of the client approval process, ensuring higher-risk and complex relationships receive the appropriate Risk and Compliance review and approval.
•    Attend and contribute to senior management, Risk & Compliance and Risk & Controls Committees, ensuring material AML, CFT and regulatory matters are appropriately reported and governed.
•    Oversee the preparation of management information, regulatory reporting and executive updates relating to CLM, AML and financial crime activities.
•    Partner with Risk, Compliance and Client Management leadership to deliver training and awareness programmes on AML, financial crime and regulatory requirements.
•    Act as the primary First Line liaison for Relationship Managers and business stakeholders, providing expert guidance and facilitating effective engagement with Second Line Risk and Compliance teams.

Skills and Requirements

•    Significant leadership experience in CLM, KYC, AML, Financial Crime or Client Onboarding.
•    Experience within private banking, wealth management, asset management, fiduciary or regulated financial services.
•    Deep knowledge of AML, KYC, CDD, sanctions and financial crime regulations.
•    Experience leading international teams and managing senior stakeholders.
•    Track record of delivering operational transformation and technology-enabled change.
•    Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
