Job Description

Hybrid | Permanent | Starting from £63,000

Want to build and run software that makes a real difference to millions of customers? Ready to work across the full lifecycle, from idea to production, using modern cloud and DevOps practices? At EDF, you won’t just write code, you’ll own it, improve it, and see the impact it has every day. Because here, Success is Personal.

The Opportunity

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a product team delivering digital solutions that directly support our customers. You’ll work across the full software lifecycle — from shaping ideas and designing solutions, through to building, deploying and running services — helping us deliver better outcomes as we continue our journey towards An Electric Britain.

You’ll join us on a salary starting of £63,000 per annum, in a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home and collaborate across #London #Hove #Exeter and other UK locations when needed.

This is a true full-stack, DevOps-focused role. You’ll design and build cloud-native applications on AWS, develop APIs and front-end features, and take responsibility for the operational performance of what you deliver. You’ll be part of an Agile team, working closely with product owners, architects and engineers to continuously improve and evolve our platforms.

Who You Are

You’re a Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys owning solutions end-to-end, from development through to deployment and support. You’re comfortable working in Agile teams, building scalable systems, and solving real customer problems. Are you experienced in…

  • Building and running cloud-native applications on AWS, including serverless architectures
  • Developing backend services using Node.js, Python, Java or similar server-side languages
  • Designing and integrating REST APIs and third-party services
  • Developing front-end applications using React and TypeScript
  • Working with event-driven, loosely coupled architectures and messaging patterns
  • Writing testable code using TDD/BDD approaches and automated testing tools
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins or Terraform
  • Supporting live services with monitoring, debugging and continuous improvement

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building and running full-stack applications across cloud, backend and front end
  • Developing secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and services
  • Delivering features using Agile and DevOps practices, from concept to production
  • Writing automated tests and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Supporting live systems through monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of £63,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of success. That’s why we give you the freedom to build a career that works for you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce, and we’ll support you with any adjustments you need throughout the process.

Join us and find your success at EDF!

Closing Date: Monday 1st June
