ABOUT THE COMMERCIAL FINANCE TEAM

The role of the Commercial Finance team is to drive profitable growth by providing financial analysis, insights, and control over commercial activities. We act as financial advisors to the business, helping commercial teams understand the financial implications of their operational decisions. We monitor key performance indicators, analyse variances against plan, providing management with actionable insights to explain performance drivers. We evaluate the financial impact of business strategy, assess the financial viability of new commercial initiatives, and ensure financial processes, compliance and controls are adhered to.

ABOUT THE ROLE

At Trustly, we are transforming the way the world pays. As the FP&A Manager, you will be a cornerstone of our Finance function. Reporting directly to the FP&A Director, you will hold a high-impact, high-visibility position as a senior member of the team.

Your mission is twofold: ensuring the board-level precision of our financial reporting and acting as a catalyst for change. You won’t just manage data; you will modernize how we use it - leveraging AI and automation to turn complex financial narratives into strategic roadmaps for the management team and the Board of Directors.

What you'll do

    1. Group Reporting & Board Excellence
  • Ownership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of all Group-level financial reporting, including monthly performance reviews, quarterly board decks, and annual reports.

  • Narrative Building: Synthesize complex financial results into clear, actionable insights for the Executive Management Team and the Board.

  • Forecasting: Drive the Group-wide budgeting and rolling forecast processes, ensuring alignment between departmental goals and Trustly’s long-term strategy.

  • 2. Process Transformation & Automation
  • Standardization: Establish and enforce unified FP&A frameworks and KPIs across all business units to ensure a single source of truth.

  • Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks in the current reporting cycle and implement automated workflows to reduce manual intervention and cycle times.

  • Systems Advocacy: Act as the lead stakeholder for FP&A tool enhancements to maximize ROI from our tech stack.

  • 3. AI & Innovation
  • AI Integration: Proactively explore and implement AI and Machine Learning solutions for predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and variance analysis.

  • Data Strategy: Partner with the Data and BI teams to improve data hygiene and accessibility, ensuring the finance team remains at the cutting edge of Fintech innovation.

  • 4. Leadership & Partnership
  • Team Development: Act as a mentor and technical lead for junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical rigor.

  • Business Partnering: Work closely with cross-functional leaders (Product, Engineering, Sales) to provide financial clarity on strategic initiatives.

Who you are

  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, ideally within a high-growth Fintech, Tech, or Payments environment.
  • Technical Savvy: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and ERP/CPM systems. A proven track record of implementing automation tools or BI dashboards (PowerBI/Tableau).

  • AI Mindset: A genuine curiosity and practical interest in how Generative AI and predictive analytics can be applied to financial workflows.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to "tell the story" behind the numbers to non-finance executives.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications (CFA, CIMA, ACCA, or MBA) are a strong plus.

Trustly is a fast-paced, innovative environment where we value "getting things done." As the FP&A Manager, you will have a seat at the table during a pivotal era of growth. You will have the autonomy to disrupt legacy processes and the support to build a world-class, AI-driven finance function.
