About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Work as a hands-on engineer placed alongside customer engineering teams, owning technical rollouts from first scoping through to delivery. Blend direct code contributions to the core product with technical leadership in front of customers, and help set up how this new function runs as it grows.

What you'll do

- Learn each customer's technical environment and design an implementation approach that fits their systems.

- Pair with customer engineers to deploy and roll out the solution at scale.

- Investigate and fix problems that hold up adoption, including deep issues in the underlying technology.

- Build features and scalability improvements that serve one customer while also advancing the product overall.

- Serve as the main technical contact for senior engineering leaders at customer organizations, driving scoping, integration and pilots.

- Partner with a commercial colleague on each account who handles pricing and contracts.

- Bring field insights back into product direction, shipping smaller improvements yourself and scoping bigger work with the core engineering team.

- Create repeatable methods, internal tooling and working standards so each new rollout goes more smoothly than the previous one.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Background in a demanding, highly technical position at a fast-growing startup, such as a founding engineer or former founder.

- Hands-on experience with, or genuine appetite for, working directly with customer engineers on integrations, rollouts or pilots, rather than purely commercial work.

- A computer science degree from a leading university.

- Strong coding and problem-solving ability, including when working against the clock.

- Comfort with picking up large, unfamiliar code and tracking down faults across front-end runtime, build pipeline and API layers.

- At least one clear standout accomplishment, such as a strong academic or employer record or a hackathon win.

- Willingness to work on-site in the office 4 days a week, with up to 25% travel to client sites.

Bonus points

- For candidates without a computer science degree, deep programming experience that began early, such as competitive programming or open source contributions.

- Experience building or growing a brand-new product as a lead engineer.
