Job Type: Permanent 

Location: Working remotely with quarterly team meetings in Edinburgh.

Salary and benefits: From £45,700 to £67k, plus  and indicative bonus range of 16%-32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role  

As a key member of the Standard Life Advice and Guidance Team,  you would  develop new and existing business for Standard Life Financial Advice Service Ltd, by providing professional hybrid  advice over the telephone.  Utilising your technical expertise and strong communication skills, you will inspire confidence in our client’s future. You will provide professional financial advice on retirement solutions and investment propositions, whilst being  responsible for retaining customers and growing assets.

What are we looking for?

To take responsibility for the achievement of our retail direct growth objectives and contribute to the delivery of the company strategy. In addition, contribute ideas and initiatives to the business to generate revenue.

To provide detailed need and objective based advice on savings, retirement, and investment products.

 Manage and support our clients over the telephone to complete a fact find, formulate need and objective based advice, and prepare suitability reports to deliver quality advice and good customer outcomes.

Develop and manage internal relationships, as well as external clients to create a strong network to support the achievement of business objectives and the referral of advice eligible customers.

Meet the requirements of the Training and Competence Scheme Framework, in order to ensure best practice is followed and maximise contribution to the business. Maintain and continually develop skills and knowledge of financial services & market trends, to ensure that changing needs of Clients are met.

You will have a strong track record within the advice industry with experience of advising clients with ‘at retirement’ needs. 

Commercial approach with outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage self to deliver results, whilst ensuring continued service excellence.

 Regulatory Qualifications required;

  • Diploma in Financial Planning or Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

  • Relevant CPD records

This role is covered by the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR) as a certified role. Therefore this role is subject to annual certification by Phoenix Group, as well as regulatory compliance standards. Anybody performing this role will be subject to:

  • PRA Individual Conduct Standards

  • FCA Senior Individual Conduct Rules
