The Role:

Legend is hiring a Financial Accountant, reporting to our Senior Financial Reporting Manager in Holbern, London.

The Financial Reporting team sits at the heart of our global Finance function, ensuring the business has accurate, reliable and insightful financial information while continually improving how we report, analyse and use data.

As a Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership across key areas of the financial reporting cycle, working across the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow to ensure our financial outputs are accurate, well-controlled and delivered to a high standard.

Alongside strong accounting fundamentals, we're looking for someone who is naturally analytical and enjoys finding better ways of doing things. You'll use data, automation and process improvement to make our reporting more efficient, reduce manual work and improve the quality of financial insight available to the business.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on financial reporting with analysis and continuous improvement within a fast-paced, multinational listed business undergoing significant growth and change.

Your Impact:

  • Take ownership of key areas of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Prepare, review and improve balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and working papers, investigating and resolving issues where required.
  • Analyse financial performance across the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow, identifying trends, investigating variances and highlighting risks or opportunities.
  • Build, improve and automate reporting processes using Excel and other data tools, reducing manual effort and improving the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Use data and financial insight to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve how Finance operates.
  • Partner with Finance Operations, FP&A and wider Finance teams to improve the quality, consistency and usefulness of financial information.
  • Support audit, governance and control activities throughout the financial reporting cycle.
  • Contribute to wider Finance projects and improvements as the function continues to evolve and scale following Legend's acquisition.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience within financial reporting, management accounting or a similar industry finance environment, with the ability to independently own areas of the reporting cycle.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting fundamentals and experience working across the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, investigate issues and turn information into meaningful insight.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial data and large datasets.
  • Demonstrable experience improving reporting processes, automating manual tasks or finding more efficient ways of working. Experience with Power Query, Alteryx or similar data tools would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, controls and producing high-quality financial information.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and take ownership of problems through to resolution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and the wider business.
  • Experience within a fast-paced, multinational or listed environment, or exposure to post-acquisition change, would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Interview Process:

    1. Interview with the Talent Partner (30 mins via Zoom)
    2. 1 hour zoom Interview with the Senior Financial Reporting Manager and People Partner.
    3. Final interview with the Head of Financial Reporting and the Financial Controller (1 hour via Zoom).
