•    Perform a high-level month-end review of key accruals, prepayments and provisions prepared and maintained by the Finance Services team, and review selected journals, reclassifications and accounting judgements as required.

•    Review audit schedules and supporting evidence before submission, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate and review-ready.
•    Coordinate responses to audit queries and ensure matters are resolved efficiently and within agreed timelines.
UK tax, VAT and statutory compliance
•    Support the preparation, review and submission of VAT returns and related compliance activities and provide accounting information to Group Tax and external advisers when required.
•    Ensure the underlying accounting records, reconciliations and supporting documentation for VAT and information requested by the Tax team are complete and accurate.
Other tasks
•    Act as a key finance contact for other colleagues and coordinate with People & Culture and Payroll on payroll submissions, journals and reconciliations, where required.

•    Maintain complete supporting evidence for key journals, reconciliations and controls in the designated central repository.
•    Keep process documentation, accounting calendars and handover materials current to support effective backup coverage and operational resilience.
•    Identify opportunities for harmonisation, automation and sustainable process improvement across the global ARC function.
Skills & Expertise

•    3+ years experience in financial accounting with practical involvement in month-end close and external audit support, ideally in an international finance environment and working with global stakeholders.
•    Proven practical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102), with the ability to research and apply accounting guidance.
•    Experience supporting the preparation or coordination of UK statutory financial statements and supporting schedules.
•    Good understanding of UK VAT and related compliance obligations; experience providing accounting information to tax specialists or advisers is beneficial.
•    Qualified or part-qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent recognised qualification, or demonstrably equivalent experience.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and close attention to detail.
•    Confident communicator who can work effectively with auditors, advisers, Finance colleagues and other stakeholders.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with reconciliations, structured financial data and reporting schedules.
