Purpose of the Role

The Finance Systems Manager is responsible for the management, optimisation and continuous improvement of finance systems that support global financial operations. Working closely with Finance leadership and key stakeholders, the Finance Systems Manager ensures finance platforms remain stable, secure and aligned to business requirements while driving enhancements that improve efficiency, controls, reporting and user experience.

The role combines operational ownership of core finance applications, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with the delivery of finance transformation initiatives. The Finance Systems Manager acts as the bridge between Finance and Technology teams, ensuring systems support strategic objectives, regulatory compliance and scalable business growth.

About the Role

This is a high-impact Finance Systems leadership role at the heart of the organisation's Finance transformation journey. As Finance Systems Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, governance and continuous improvement of critical finance platforms while supporting strategic change initiatives across the Finance function.

You will work closely with Finance leaders, technology teams and external partners to maintain system stability, improve operational effectiveness and deliver enhancements that drive greater control, automation and business value. Success in this role requires strong finance systems expertise, sound judgement, a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to balance operational priorities with longer-term transformation objectives.

This role is ideal for an experienced Finance Systems professional who enjoys owning complex finance applications, partnering with stakeholders across the business and delivering meaningful improvements that support organisational growth.

Key Accountabilities

Finance Systems Ownership

  • Own and manage the finance systems landscape, ensuring platforms remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose across global operations.

Systems Administration & Support

  • Oversee day-to-day finance systems operations, ensuring incidents, service requests and system issues are resolved effectively and within agreed service levels.

Finance Transformation

  • Lead finance systems enhancement initiatives, supporting process improvement, automation and the adoption of best practice financial controls.

Dynamics 365 F&O Management

  • Act as the primary SME for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, ensuring effective configuration, optimisation and ongoing system performance.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with Finance leaders and business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritise improvements and translate business needs into practical system solutions.

Process Optimisation

  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, eliminate manual activities and enhance efficiency through technology and automation.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage third-party vendors and support partners, ensuring delivery of high-quality services, system maintenance and project outcomes.

Data Integrity & Reporting

  • Promote strong data governance and system controls to ensure the accuracy, consistency and reliability of financial data and reporting.

Change Management & User Adoption

  • Lead user engagement, training and change activities to maximise adoption and effectiveness of finance systems enhancements.

Risk, Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure finance systems operate in line with regulatory requirements, audit standards, security policies and internal financial controls.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Essential)

  • Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise finance systems within a complex, multinational environment.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, including core finance modules and system administration.
  • Experience leading finance systems improvements, ERP implementations, upgrades or transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience driving automation and process optimisation within Finance functions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, financial controls, audit requirements and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, support providers and delivery partners.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective systems solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior Finance and Technology leaders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Understanding of AI-enabled technologies and their application within finance operations would be advantageous.
