The role

As a Risk & Controls Consultant, you will play an important role in strengthening and continuously improving the risk and control environment across Finance, with a focus on financial controls and Finance’s internal control framework.

Working across a variety of Finance processes and teams, you’ll help maintain a high‑quality financial control framework by supporting Senior Managers and Risk & Control Leads in delivering their responsibilities. This includes performing assurance and finance control testing, assisting with documentation, and helping to embed the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Internal Controls Framework (ICF).

You’ll also contribute to supporting action plan management, support the preparation of materials for key governance forums, and help track the effectiveness of controls to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

As a flexible resource within Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to work where demand is greatest—gaining exposure to a diverse set of activities, building both technical and people skills, and making a meaningful impact on how the function manages risk and controls.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in risk, audit, or finance controls or assurance roles.
  • Good understanding of financial processes
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt to change.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain control concepts effectively and build strong relationships at all levels.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, comfortable working across different teams and supporting a variety of initiatives.
  • A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn, take ownership, and contribute to continuous improvement across the risk and control environment.
  • Familiarity with RMF and ICF is beneficial but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in building a career in risk and controls, with opportunities to develop into more senior or specialist positions over time.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
